Dies irae causa medo. É tão belo, mas assustador e extremamente fúnebre.

In high school we had an exceptional choir director. We performed the F. Melius Christiansen arrangement of the Requiem Mass. Fifty-three years later I don’t remember all of it, but I am still deeply moved by this piece. Unfortunately, My old (public) high school longer allows this type of music.

Sounds to me that it's the organist's improvisation on the Vidi Aquam; played slowly

In 2007, as a a nine year old, I stumbled upon this video. This was the first video I had ever seen of a Catholic Mass. I grew up in "non Denominational" protestantism. I remember being so enraptured by the video and the beauty of the Mass. I grew up in a anti Catholic family and hated the Faith from a young age, however as I grew older, this video stuck with me in the back of my mind. Praise be Jesus Christ in his mercy, that through the Latin Mass, the Mass of all time, I converted to the Catholic Church in 2020. God bless who ever might be reading this. Know that Jesus Christ loves you and that freedom from sin and Salvation are to be found in his One Church, the Catholic Church. Find a Latin Mass, Read the Bible and Pray the Rosary, and He will guide you to your eternal home.

It's an interesting phrase. I think it translates to Go, the Mass exists. It's as though at the end of the Mass the Sacrifice is real and present. I love the traditional Latin Mass!
@ransomcoates5462 жыл бұрын
No, it means ‘Go, this is the dismissal’. See Adrian Fortescue’s history of the Roman Rite.

Hail, O Queen of Heaven enthroned. Hail, by angels mistress owned. Root of Jesse, Gate of Morn Whence the world's true light was born: Glorious Virgin, Joy to thee, Loveliest whom in heaven they see; Fairest thou, where all are fair, Plead with Christ our souls to spare.
