My 280ai shoots all the factory ammo I have fed it perty good. That Hornady precision hunter was the worst by far at 1.2moa all the Nozzler and Federal stuff has shot 3/4moa or better. Far as suppressors, I used to be like that didn't really care about suppressors before I got my first one, but now it's won't go shooting/hunting without one.

The new Tikka I purchased shot worse than that with many factory loads and many hand loads. It shot 7 1/2" groups. I returned it for a full refund dur it being a pos. It was absolutely the worst shooting rifle I have owned and i own alot rifles. I handload for about 50 different cartridges. Sometimes you get one try at things and for me the Tikka was a huge fail. You couldnt pay me enough money to own apiece of garbage like a Tikka. Looks like you have a ways to go with your handloads. Good luck!

Don’t hesitate to use those 140BT’s. I shot 2 nice Georgia bucks and 4 does this year with my .280AI. I quit using them in early nineties due to their “grenade “ like characteristics but they redesigned them some years ago and are a lot stronger. With my mono loads I have to neck shoot or hit shoulders or they have to be tracked at times. Thanks

Some Great groups, my friend. Thank you for posting your findings with your 280-Rem-AI. You cant go wrong with Leopold optics. I absolutely love my 280-Rem-AI . My rifle is a 26in 1:9 twist heavy barrel 9.lb rifle without the scope. I mainly shoot Brass or copper monolithic bullets and I don't shoot anything over 162gr for hunting. I do not like Horndys garbage ammo it is more Hype than performance all marking. Hell Plain jane Remington core-lock ammo shoots better than Horndy ammo any day of the week . I also like the swift scirocco bullets their devastating. I shoot Hammer & Barnes bullets a lot. Maker-bullets and cutting-edge bullets are phenomenal. Nosler and Sierra bullets are great also . You know Horndy copied Nosler with their polymer tip or Ballistic-Tips bullets. I am that guy that likes longer barrels no less than 25in on bolt-guns unless it's a scout rifle or carbine , Lever-action or AR style rifles. I look at it like this if I can run it hot and it groups good under 1/2-inch or less I roll with it . If not I'll slow it down or speed it up until I find my best accuracy node and roll with it. I enjoy the efficiency longer brass life and extra horsepower so much I Ackley improved quite a few of my rifles. Like 22-250-AI , 220-swift-AI, 243-win-AI , 6mm-Rem-AI , 257-Roberts-AI , 25-06-AI , 25-SAUM , 6.5-SAUM, 6.5-Rem-mag-AI-short action 6.5-06-AI , 260-Rem-AI, 270-win-AI , 270-WSM imp 40° sholder, of course 280-Rem-AI , 7mm08-AI , 30-06-AI and 338-06-AI exc. The best part of Ackley improved I can still shoot factory ammo and it automatically fire forms for reloading with way less brass trimming and prep. Thanks again for posting you results. God bless you and your family.God bless America 🇺🇸🇨🇱 🇺🇲🇨🇱 🇨🇱🇺🇲🇨🇱🇺🇲🇨🇱.

@@jeremystyron9721 yea I’m a fan of longer barrels for bolt guns and you’re spot on about the fire forming ease of shooting the “parent” cartridge through the Ackley chambering. I think that’s an advantage that some people tend to forget.

What was your coal for the 140 gr nosler ballistic tip? My rifle also doesn't like the 162gr hornady. But my velocities weren't close on what the box said. My average for the 162gr hornady was 2956. So the 140 accubond should be around 31ish to 32ish in guessing. Also my dropped chart for both bullets. Seems the lighter bullets drops more then the heavy ones. Was this your results with drops.dope. heavy vs light

@@soldier-mh2gk I’m running it at 3.300”…the Nosler manual recommends 3.330” but that’s the touch point for that bullet in my rifle so I’m only jumping ~.030” loaded at 3.300”.

I've tried this bullet in several 6.5 CM rifles using several powders. At least in my rifles Superformance has been the best overall powder using this bullet. My wife took a really nice trophy buck with a 130 TGK over Superformance hand load this past season. This bullet preforms much like a Nosler Ballistic Tip based on our experience on several deer. Her rifle is a 20" Winchester XPR compact. With a 45.5 gr load of Superformance I achieved 2773 fps with an SD of 5/ES of 12 and a 0.398 (5 shot) 100 yard group. I tried that same charge In my Daughter's Ruger American 22" and the result was 2783 fps, SD of 10/ES 23 and a 0.465 group. In my 22" Savage 110 45.5 shot just over an inch on average however 44.5 gr of Superformance gave me 2722 fps, SD of 6/ES 19 and a 0.283 inch 5 shot group. In my 24" CZ 557 45.5 gr of Superformance gave me 2795 fps, SD 13/ES 37 and a 0.998 inch group. The CZ is the only rifle out of the four Creedmoors we own that doesn't overly like this bullet. I've also loaded it with AA4350, RL17 and Big Game but the SuperFormance was the best powder out of those in each rifle I've tried.
