Thank you very much, I have been looking for months to make my Big Boy (my first machine with a tsunami2) silent when I turn on the network! This function is what I was waiting for. I programmed a second one in the CV113 and since it always has the headlight on when it is used it is really perfect.

I have a new Atherns Genesis SD90MAC it has lighted number boards and truck lights that you can't even see unless you turn off the light in the room. After watching this video I took off the shell and the board looks somewhat like your TSU-PNP8 I have been buying from you. I thought about adding cab light and a emergency red light in the cab but if there not going to be any brighter then the others why do it. So my question is, how can I make the factory lights brighter? Is there cv's I can change for number boards and truck lights?

Norman~, Informative video 👍, however, a better explanation of the benefits for some would be better served by actually demonstrating this process on an older steam engine with a close-up camera on the drivers. I've been using these CV's along with a handful of other CVs together to tweak what most modelers have (older models). I've been tweaking older models with older decoders to obtain smoother performance now for a couple decades. This demonstration using a smooth new locomotive didn't drive home the best point of tweaking CVs for savvy modelers wanting to better understand BEMF and getting the most out of their Tsunami decoders. Just sayin'. Thanx Thom...

This is why I don’t buy scale trains. I don’t like when companies ( or governments) force us to a choice. The decoders should stand on their own. Bad decision Shane!!

Does it remember this when I put these two locomotives back in a consist?
@SoundtraxxDCC
@SoundtraxxDCC 5 күн бұрын
When you close the app, you will have to re-consist the locos. But that is easy and quick, so it is not a big deal. You can leave the app open, just minimize it when you are not running your trains if you’d rather. But consisting is quick, so not a huge deal. But, it is noted and will be passed to the app developers for a possibility of this in future revisions.

@@SoundtraxxDCC I have 3 Blunami locomotives and I speed matched them using the app. I recommend speed matching on an oval test track and starting off with the locomotives uncoupled from each other. After tinkering with the +/- I eventually got them all to complete the oval staying a few inches of spacing between each other, in all 3 speed zones. The app remembers the speed matching, so even if I consist only 2 of the 3, they stay speed matched. The ghosted out throttle setting of the non-lead locomotives is very helpful to confirm the previous settings. Make sure you have your locomotives fully setup the way you want the speed table, inertia, etc. first before doing the speed matching.

@SoundtraxxDCC

Then you can use the DCC system. The Blunami app only communicates to the Blunami decoders. There is no way to ‘talk’ to a non-sound DCC decoder through the app, so use the DCC system and you will be fine.

Is there a way to add the Dyno-light affect to ditchlights set to F5?
@SoundtraxxDCC
@SoundtraxxDCC 5 күн бұрын
Presumably if you have ditch lights, you don’t have a Dynamo, but you should be able to select the diesel-light option in the Blunami App menus (or respective CVs on a Tsunami2 for the FX# output you wired the light to.) It is a similar effect, the light warming up as the element glows, which is very subtle compared to a simple on/off. But this should also be the default light effect for all of the FX# outputs too. If you need further assistance, contact Support at [email protected]

Have owned Athearn locos since way back.And are still my preference as they use Soundtraxx Decoders.Compared to others they are easy to adjust on a DCC system.Dont need a computer or a secondary system.Many expect a new loco to be set up,mainly because they don't know how to adjust CVs.The T2 and Econamis have basic settings to start,but have a whole list of options to fine tune.The problem with total resets,is all the settings are lost.Thats why I keep a log.Not hard to do.

Be sure to add in the LED compensation bit to your ditch light output effect register (FX3-FX8 use CVs 51-56 to set the effect.) For the quick fade on, select the diesel light effect (Value 15) for the light effect, then add 128 for LEDs. If you need further assistance, contact [email protected]

@SoundtraxxDCC
@SoundtraxxDCC 5 күн бұрын
You can, but the consists will become one with a click of the link. Uncheck the first consist, let’s say consist B, then click the consist function again, and add the locos to the main consist, consist A as a mid or rear loco. Then to release them just uncheck the consist and add back to their original B consist. The good news here is that the Blunami consisting is just a few clicks away vs setting multiple CVs each time for a true advanced consist! For more details, contact [email protected]

Its nice to see many are starting to see, through inspiration from SoundTraxx videos and videos in forums of other creative users, who are making creative use trying out all 6 - 8 functions to really light up your locomotive with Cab Lights, Ditch Lights, Truck Lights, Step Lights, Beacons AND NUMBER BOARDs... All with at least of 6 functions. I've done it.. Taking a Blue Box and made a $35 Locomotive and look just as good as a Manufactures. Although I see the manufacturers are seeing what creative users are doing in the forums with LEDs... and catching up with us. We are living in some GOOD TIMES for the Hobby "Que the Good Times Music Here" 😄 "Wink Wink" Encourage everyone as your podcast video showed, Don't Be Afraid to TRY SOMETHING NEW I tell everyone in the forums, Don't Be Afraid. 😉 Just keep iI reasonable and within boundaries of user guide... QUESTION To SoundTraxx and a thought: Have you ever thought of featuring one of your Creative Users on your podcasts with some sample videos spliced in your podcast? MAYBE EVNEN an appearance on zoom... Just a thought to expand the inspiration 😁Feature Example, like the guy with the Yard Trains who won your Blunami contest, or maybe even others whom have done some interesting creative things with SoundTraxx decoders. Call it Feature User Guest of the Month such and such state?🤔 Again, just thinking out loud. The possibilities are no doubt endless to stir more excitement. - Keep Up The Great Work SoundTraxx!

Since I am going to be putting Blunami Alco decoders in a Rapido FA & FB-1, would I have to adjust the DDE sensitivity or could I calibrate both the A & B unit while they are consisted together?
@SoundtraxxDCC
@SoundtraxxDCC 5 күн бұрын
You can calibrate the DDE together, but it will not give the true load of the lone motor. We have some recommendations for the setting so the DDE does keep more coordinated, but I’m afraid your idea may result in unusual behavior. Try it, and if it doesn’t work, or you don’t like the results, you can then separate them and recalibrate it. So, See what you find and go from there. My personal setting preference is low DDE sensitivity on diesels, and set the auto-notching rate to 15/SS per notch, so it spaces the notching points apart, so they are less responsive to a bump in the couplers or a minor track hump. Play with it and see what you find.. Contact us at [email protected] if you need further assistance. Thank you!

I don't have any Blunami decoders but I do have many non Blunami Soundtraxx decoders.
