Ray Bradbury is more poetic than the authors he mentioned, a lot of metaphors in his elegant and beautiful prose, Martin lacks the necessary sensitivity to appreciate it.

This is terrific. Thanks for posting. Really truthful acting, you really care for both of the characters. Peter's matter of principle in defending his bench is particularly well played. And Jerry's constant provocation is so on point. I'd love to see The Story of Jerry and the Dog - I reckon they'd nail it!

Agreed. Bradbury isn't necessarily my favorite classic science fiction author, but the dude earned his place among the greats of the genre. Martin isn't getting his ass kicked enough...

Nah Ray's too pessimistic about the things y'know. First time I read 451 degrees I kind of liked it, but the second time, after about a year I felt that it's too odd, dark and non-realistic

Both are excellent..!! I felt something of mine in Jerry. If you don't talk to people, too much, you don't know how to behave to them, how to order matter correctly that you want to talk.. There is something closely related to me 😇.. socialising with people is a crusial thing.

Why doesn't he like Bradbury? Is anything about this writter that I'm missing?
@SavageGreywolf2 жыл бұрын
I think it's just a nonsense joke about nerdfights, but Bradbury was sort of a dick. He insisted he 'wasn't a science fiction author' and that no, _Fahrenheit 451_ isn't about censorship, it's about how you mouth breathers all watch too much damn tv. Great author, kind of a dink. Sort of like Harlan Ellison.
@mistermeow5272 жыл бұрын
During the late 20th Century a lot of sci-fi nerds created a system to classify Science Fiction as either "soft" or "hard" to denote how much "science" is in the work of fiction and "Soft Science Fiction" was looked at in a derogatory way as oppose to 'upscale' "Hard Science Fiction" so Ray Bradbury got classified in "Soft" along with Heinlein and Roddenberry, yeah it was a kinda stupid system. The joke is Martin's such a turbo nerd he's gatekeeping accomplished science fiction writers.
