Cool story, thank you for sharing. My understanding regarding insurance is that when the Nordschleife is specifically excluded on the policy, EU insurers are still legally obliged to cover all 3rd party costs BUT, if they do pay out, they will then try to recover all of the costs from the policyholder through the courts and the policyholder will effectively be unable to get any motor insurance until the case is settled. Not really a situation anyone want to find themselves in but I suspect at least 50% of the people at TF will not have adequate insurance so apparently its a risk worth taking for most.

It's probably on a stock setup. These cars handle great with some tweaks. Out of the box they aren't terrible, but I've also never owned a car that I've kept the suspension or brakes stock. I have 2 buddies that own the 86 platform and on smaller circuits, they can keep up with my M3 and 911 just fine. Comes down to the driver.

They dont understeer, the driver understeers the car because they can't fucking drive. Audi's have to be rotated off power and you need to get them turned early and you can't be too greedy with the throttle pedal otherwise forget it, they require patience and skill to drive fast, just like a FWD car.

It’s to do with the 60/40 not 50/50 weight distribution from how they mount the engine in front of the front axes. Nose heavy! It’s physics! Inertia. That’s why I just think anyone who buys an Audi is ignorant.

Good point, helps on the subarus, BUT!!! the audi's have the engine mountet too far in front of the front axel for it to work very good.
