Watching at x2 speed is almost real time makes you realise slow motion was the ideal choice for this scene.

This is eternally one of the most cleverly comedic scenes in a dramatic movie I’ve seen.

I came to see Mark after seeing him profiled in the 96 NBA draft documentary. He grew up in Mount Vernon, WA. Not far from where I grew up and where I went to college (WWU in Bellingham, WA).

I dont think enough people realize that that scene summed up the meaning of the movie, who is really missing out the guy blasted to the moon on drugs or the guy who is living the straight life
@damiancassar8664 Жыл бұрын
Who would you say is missing out?
@peanutbutterdijonnaise Жыл бұрын
@@damiancassar8664 in the context of the movie and that he is a “gonzo Jounalist” I’d say that Thompson was suggesting that those who live in fear of experiencing what there is to experience in life…is the one missing out. That’s his perspective at least, way simplified.

I thought the point of the book and the movie was to describe what it would feel like to be a left over member of the hippie movement, when the rest of the world had moved on and the great wave rolled back, persisting in a fucked up world like Vegas in the 70s surrounded by suits and ties.

It's "Acid Spill" by Ray Cooper and Tomoyasu Hotei. I went hunting it down, found it, and then realised someone else had asked and been replied to with the same thing.
