Excellent demostration...but the other way to pull in the strut bladder is to tape bladder at fat end, make a small hole at very end, use a cable tie and pull in as normal. It saves straining the valve if the hole is very small. It can be quicker.

Coverup is correct tape method if much better, roll valve and push bend stem a litte, another note I would not recommend the string has it can cut the valve ring

Hey Todd where can I get the bladders and valves thanks in advance Steve

Stephen Ferris the best place as of now is airtime for the valves and bladders.

Do replacement bladders already come with the valves attached?
@jurjan7 жыл бұрын
I damaged the bladder while trying to cut out the valve. ''It should be pretty easy because that's the reason it let go''. Well, (apparently) not for newer bladders. The initial damage was a hole on the valve itself, and not leaking because the glue is letting go. I've watched several videos were they could just tear off the valves. No way that's happening for my valve, even not after heating it with a heat gun. I'm bringing it to a repair shop now, I suggest people to do the same when the valve is not coming off easily!
@northshoreshaper7 жыл бұрын
Jurjan de Graaf you are very correct. Taking off a valve that is still on is very difficult. The best is putting it in a cup of boiling water, but even then, it might not work. My next step would be remove the whole valve with scissors and then begin a new repair. Very difficult to say the least. Mahalo for your comment.

Hey -what do you do if the ball is missing?
@northshoreshaper7 жыл бұрын
find another one a stuff it back in after or before replacement. On the older WH kite i use a 1 way valve and delete the ball all together

I had always hated repairs, but after watching your valve replacement video, I was inspired and did quite a good job on fixing my 2013 Kahoona. The rest of your videos are also very inspirational! I just love the spots you got there! Ours here in Greece are not that great, but we still have fun sometimes. Thanks very much for all the videos and tips!! Keep on having a good time :) Aloha!

Nice tips! Exactly what I was looking for. How to check what valve size will be correct for my kite? For example 7mm, 9mm valve, what is this size?
@nougiw269 жыл бұрын
Hello, great vid! I'd like you to tell me how those clamps that you use to clamp down the bladder prior to changing the vale are called. Could you also tell me what size I should be looking for and maybe provide me with a link to buy the appropriate ones? Thanks in advance!
@northshoreshaper9 жыл бұрын
+nou giw Any spring clamp will work, I have used several different types and even used just weights to keep the material flat. They are approximately 2 inch spring clamps.

Thanks, I've found some at the local stores. They were cheaper that I thought too...

Airtime replacement valves are what I used in the Video. The valve traps from Airtime work as well for ant valve.

Todd, thanks much for the tip. I just replaced the bladder valve on my Mr Green and worked nicely. The outer circle of dacron was impeding the bladder to seat flat so I used a curved surface underneath to help the adhesion. Good video, thanks again.
