+John C (J.C.'S GARAGE) Thanks John, I custom build these dyno's. With using the software and measuring the output voltage of the slave motor on the rollers along with the amp draw, you can get results that will transfer over to the track and how the car will truly perform, just because a car will produce more rpm's in a no load / drag scenario does not mean it will be fast on the track. I load the dyno rollers with a special method of applying force to imitate the drag on the car going down the track. its adjustable and you can tell when you have it correct as the torque reading on the software will flatten out, just like dyno testing on a 1/1 car. I built this after trying several of the dyno's being sold gave less than desirable results for testing.

I have built and sold them for $350, there is a ton of time to get the Tamaiya modded to run an HO scale, I machine both case halves and several custom brackets are needed as well. This version also has power adjust ability as well as a cooling fan. The Tamayia electronics also functions as it did for the 10th scale cars, but it is a bit much for HO testing. Power supply is provided by 2- 3 amp 20 volt laptop supplies that give you almost 6 amps to run anything HO you could ever dream of, with a coarse and fine input voltage adjustment, Right now I just do not have the time to build one, but if I do start building again I will let you know, they work very well and give real results.

nice mod to the Tamiya speed checker. Did you have to cut th e roller down in the back? did you mod this to read the ohms (not the software)?
