I love Bud, he's my favourite active fighter, but with his performance against Madrimov there are question marks over his age and his moving up in weight. Perhaps Madrimov is just a lot better than we gave him credit for, perhaps Bud had an off night or was looking past him - but he might be slightly over the hill and above his ideal weight going against fights much better suited to that size. This fight will either be a classic or pointless.

Like the analysis. I think part of the reason Canelo has been reluctant is the backlash he received for Jermell Charlo. Before that bout, there was a vocal minority in the US with the narrative that Canelo had been ducking the Charlo bros and Andrade for years. Hence, the intrigue (at the time) resulting in a $20mil live gate& 600k PPV. However, afterwards, virtually the whole boxing community discredited Canelo and said Charlo was too small. Let's be real, the same thing would happen here again vs Crawford so it's only Saudi-esque money that's convincing Canelo. For Bud, this fight is a 'free hit' : a career high payday and a reasonable explanation/excuse if he loses.
@DrRepper5 сағат бұрын
Agree with you on rehydration clauses in general. With regard to this fight, it's a no brainer for Crawford, in that he makes an unbelievable retirement cheque, and if he pulls off the unthinkable he's made history as well. In reality, what will happen is that he's going to be put in an 18' ring with a 185lb guy with a ridiculous chin, who he couldn't hurt with a hammer, who is also a very effective pressure fighter who cuts the ring relentlessly, and all while carrying a stone and a half more than he's used to. Crawford will be a live dog for 4 or 5 rounds, then the crunching body work will take it's toll, and somewhere in the middle rounds he'll get badly hurt and either he gets knocked out flat, or BoMac throws in the towel because he hasn't been through that much with his boy to watch him die in his last fight. Then they all shake hands and go home stinking rich.

Yes, I’d like towatch you handle more of these discussions. Like everyone else on the planet, I believe Crawford has a legitimate shot at beating Canelo because of his talent. He wants to know his limits and Canelo NOW,( before he starts his own physical demise) is recognized as the best by everyone today. And, he realizes his OWN physical demise is eminent. Putiing another fight between today and Canelo, at these higher weights costs him too much (Madromov told him something). Timing is essential. Now, how importantly how will Canrelo handle this? It will be business as usual, he’s not giving Crawford anymore thinking then he had for anybody else. He’ll use more jabbing and do what he can to slow him down with body shots. He’ll have a fight plan for Crawford, and you’re right. We’ll have to see how much Canelo might have slipped from all these also-rans of the past, in that and watching the films he’s gonna change his spots. I think McGurt may be right about how Bud might win this.
@LeadLeftLeon5 сағат бұрын
I think to myself TBud just has to win 7 rounds without getting knocked down or ko’d. Then I remember how undersized Gamboa was rocking him or how that euro knocked him down at welterweight. That guy is nowhere near as skilled as Alvarez nor as hard hitting. Plus Alvarez is the clear a-side here meaning they’ll be fighting in a tiny azz ring which favors his seek & destroy style

I personally dont really get the point, Crawford has atleast 3 or 4 interesting fights he can make at 154. If he wanted the Canelo fight so much idk why he wouldn't move up again fight a guy like Jannibek or a 160 champion as prep. Hes going to stay inactive until September.... Meanwhile Canelo would have gotten a May fight

I like Crawford in this fight. I know he's older and everything else. I think Canelo against a switch hitter with a much faster guy that carries power, (i dont think KO at 160 as much as we judt saw Usyk gain, gather and dictate respect with his power). I argue Crawfords IQ against Canelos timing. Could be very wrong but why do people say a boxer beats a puncher.

It's easy to talk a good fight and convince everyone of the sense of it when so much money is at stake. If (as most people expect) Crawford loses then what did it prove anyway? But what does it do for Crawford's legacy? Nothing unless he pulls off the impossible. And the chances of that are slim and none....so is slim about to leave town?
@floridaman_85_589 сағат бұрын
The only reason people are entertaining this question is because crawford is that good. canelos probably gonna win but crawfords has things that make people give him the benefit of a doubt. Looking at canelos last 5 opponents, everyone knew they had no chance of beating canelo but we still watched regardless. charlo, berlanga, ryder, munguia and a 90 year old ggg. Its been a while since canelo faced an opponent were people are genuinely curious as to whats gonna happen. i literally can't see crawford getting ran over but i can't see caneo losing to a guy who started at lightweight. its an interesting idea.

Parker will be almost a year out of the ring when he fights Dubois in February and in a contact sport no amount of training and sparing will compensate for real match conditions. In the fight against Zhang, Parker was knocked down twice by a pedestrian boxer whose combinations seldom go above two punches. I was very impressed with DDD's movement, timing, foot work, jab and punch power against Joshua. Parker does have the heart of a lion and his camp keep on referencing the improvements he is making. However, it is with Daniel Dubois that we have seen the most dramatic improvements in terms of skill and mental fortitude. For me it is difficult to see Parker winning this fight.

Listen mate. Good channel. I like it. You are good. But people are getting crazy about this fight. Daniel is going to destroy Parker. Parker won the WBO against Ruiz 8 years ago. Then defended it twice- who against though? Well, first ‘defence’ was against the great RAZVAN CAJANU (whoever he was) and his 2nd defence was Hughie Fury on points. Then AJ beat him. He’s been decked by Whyte in the 2nd, Chisora in 7 seconds, ko’d by Joyce, and decked by Zhang twice who was so old he decided to take the 10-8 rounds in case he gassed out. Parker has not the power NOR the chin to ever last long against Daniels pressure and power and chin.

You make good points and it’s possible! I do still rate Parker though and I think he can cause some problems.
@TheGreatest1974Күн бұрын
@ he may cause problems of movement etc but his power will not bother Daniel. And Daniel will be hunting that chin of Parker’s from the first bell. When Dubois lands and gets him in trouble, which will happen, Daniel will finish this guy off. He’s FAR far too strong and young and fit and powerful and confident, imagine you are built like Dubois and he can box far better than anyone ever gives him credit for. Daniel has found that if he just perseveres he can overcome because of the effect his power has on his opponents. His chin is good and his power is huge, the way I see it, Daniel knows already inside that he will catch Parker and end him. If it doesn’t happen quickly, he’ll say so what and just carry on until Parker falls. Nobody has yet went past ten rounds with the new Dubois. His last 3 were 10, 8 and 5 round ko’s.
