Ayesha probably does not know that Churchill had secretly assured Jinnah in 1940 full support from the British for Muslim cause in India. Again in 1945, Churchill reaffirmed to Jinnah full British support for Pakistan, 4 years before it was created. Without Churchill's backing, Jinnah could have done nothing. Jinnah wanted to create a state without ever clearly laying out his vision for it. He did not write a single document that can be referred to as his philosophy for Pakistan. Essentially throughout his life, he harped on a single concept Sir Syed Ahmed Khan had laid out in 1887, that is: Muslims are different people from Hindus and thus they can not live together in one nation if British were ever to leave. Churchill hated Gandhi from their very first meeting London way back in 1915 (I may be wrong about exact year). He had called Gandhi as most dangerous man to the British Empire. So when Churchill became PM in 1940, he did everything he could to harm Gandhi and his Congress Party. Jinnah was of course his trusted go-to man to drive the communal wedge between Hindus and Muslims. Now some seventy years later, Muslims in India are living much more peacefully and happier life than those in Pakistan. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan and Jinnah have been proven wrong. I recommend everyone who wants to know true history of partition of India to read following 2 books. 1. An American Witness to India's Partition by Phillip Talbot 2. Gandhi and Churchill: The Epic Rivalry by Arthur Herman

what do you want to say ? probably that the top historian who has recieved many awards and whose work has been appreciated globally does not know anything and an indian boy in the street who has never read a single history book knows more than the top historian . Stop considering people so fool to believe in you rather than a top historian whose work is accepted as a reference in the indo pak history.

R. K. Bansal , you must read and recommend another book about partition written by Jaswant Singh who is retired officer of Indian army and former cabinet member . The book is "Jinnah : India , partition , independence"

The way gandhi made rabindernath tagore write poetry in praise of king george 5th, says all. Period. He was adhering to the british more than anyone, and they didn't hate him at all. In fact, they thought of him as their own man; wasn't it gandhi that heaped praises on the brits while he was in africa???!!! Secondly, if anyone had beaten the daylights out of the brits, it was subhash chandra bose and his national army; Atlee disclosed it in his meeting with the then chief minister of bengal that gandhi had a minimal role in beating the shit out of them. Freedom fighters like Bhagat singh, netaji subhash bose, muhammad ali jinnah -- all had great conflicts with this hindu devout cum political-theatrical-artist gandhiji. And, you can refer to all those books that are written in praise of this man, who was a sex maniac and a pure racist/casteist, but we're still not falling short of stuff lifting the veil on his hypocrisy and assholery.

''Probably ayesha doesn't know that...'' Hahaha. Yeah, she's a historian but maybe you can tell better.

@Wankosoba Congress men were the biggest pleasers of the british imperial system, but imbeciles would be impressed with the political theatre they presented so well. That gandhi, whom I have no respect for because of his views on black Africans and dalits, just enticed people into offering themselves to be beaten and brutalized. Gandhi is responsible for whatever people went through at the Chaura Chauri. That guy was responsible for the atrocities and casualties that happened because of civil disobedience. His unconstitutional politics was just beyond ridiculous.

Nehru rejected Cabinet Mission. So what? If Nehru had rejected Cabinet Mission, it does not mean that you go and divide Muslims into three parts. This is something even a crying brat will not do that. The division of Muslims (not-India) was the by-product of a Nehru/Jinnah rivalry. When failing to get approval from the majority of Muslim leaders, Jinnah used Islam-Card or Two-Qaumi Card to divide Muslims (not India) into three parts. Well done Jinnah. What a brilliant leader you were.
@hope684310 жыл бұрын
Jinnah was the greatest Hindu leader ever. By dividing Muslims into three parts, he has done the greatest favour to Hindus than any Hindu leader in history. The world head quarter of Deoband, Tabliquee movement, Nadwa, Barevli are located right in India. Zakir Naik is a hero in India. Jamaat e Islami is working full swing.

Karen What you talk of, is the Philosophy of "Peaceful Coexistence" that has little to do with "Belief, that be held as a Religion. TV Evangelism, is a twentieth century phenomenon ... allowing anyone to speak as a "prophet" ... more or less. Please spare Islam ! Yes, you can talk about the 21st century Muslims ... "liberated" from the preconceived or inherited "notions" ... Islam stays put ... In Purpose ... As the Ordained form of Belief, for all humankind.
