This is so sickening. I made a video today entitled: “Mash & Walters” footage- puppy abuse. I will save this to my playlist for my viewers and title it: “It’s a Dog’s Life: Lab Animal Abuse is Commonplace.” My beagle was rescued out of Envigo. She would have been treated horribly. She has 1500 followers. My whole mission in life is to expose these depraved monsters all over social media and get these disgusting places shut down for good!

Vegan for the Wild Animals ( the 1st Animal Holocaust) annihilated from 1/3 of the Earths (Ice free) Land Mass for the 80 Billion animals bred for eating every year. I’m sure you are aware of the Great Green Wall of Africa( GGWA) in Burkino Faso & Senegal there are some great examples of Food Forests bringing back local hydrology. That is bringing stream back to life and filling what we’re dried Wells, cooling the local climate and empowering woman who sell excess produce at local markets that have also been brought back to life with the abundance of plant foods from the Food Forests. Now creating jobs for men who apparently move along the food forests to get jobs picking fruit etc. Rebuilding communities people no longer have to be travelling long distances for work or abandon their villages. 🌻🌎✊🏽

And in fact the 1945 Donald Watson coining is a far stronger than what we have now; "The object of the Vegan Society is to oppose the exploitation of sentient life, whether it is profitable to do so or not." This is vastly different to what was read out and I have never seen an ounce of evidence to support this being any of the pioneers view, if this genuinely is the case, could you evidence it? 2. Elsie was no longer with us when this version of the definition was thought up and put into use having passed away in 1978 the year before this "redefining" even began let alone finished and was released. Leslie Cross too had already passed away also. I'm not sure why this was done, but its both misleading and unhelpful please address, thank you.

I'm perplexed I have to say. I could not believe that Dr. Calvert got the definition of veganism wrong. Neither Donald Watson nor Elsie Shrigley devised the "practicable" definition. That was TVS between 1979 and 1988. What's more confusing, in Dr. Calvert's excellent history of TVS (still on their www), she says that exact thing. In 1945, Watson did come up with one of the best statements about veganism ever - that it is the opposition to the exploitation of sentient life. I would take that over the 79-88 definition any time. This is important, in my view, since so many people want to reduce veganism to a diet - or make it an "animals only" movement, which none of the founders of the movement would have agreed with. There are far more reducetarian veganism than is healthy for the social movement at the present time.

I didn't know the term vegan was that old.

I found this so weak and boring I could only watch up to 8.29, not only that but over complicating simple things that are already widely known. Also these non human animals are individuals not ‘’Beef & Lamb’’ but Cows & Sheep, another thing is the ‘’Fossil Foods’’, Fossil( fuels). Are a massive distraction from the actual cause of the climate crisis( not ‘’climate change’’), which is Mass Global Deforestation from animal ag. Responsible for 87% of emissions( link below). So even mentioning ‘’Fossil’’ is perpetuating that thought of Fossil Fuels that the mainstream is pushing into peoples heads. Unfortunately the climate crisis is at such a late stage now that even if everyone went Vegan tomorrow it wouldn’t be enough to stop global warming/save the Biosphere. Cos we don’t have 10 years for the reforestation/rewilding to be mature enough to be able to permanently sequester the excess CO2. So we have to also use Algae that is the only photosynthesising organism that can grow fast enough to permanently sequester the excess CO2 in the next 3-5 years which is all we have left ( if it’s not too late already) We NEED a rapid transition to a Decentralised Carbon Neg Algae Based Economy, I am a 38 year Vegan & Environmental/Climate Activist and have done all the research and calculations, if we made a citizen led grassroots transition to use Algae to treat waste water, landfill runoff, industrial gasses etc we could be self reliant for fuel & (BioGas), producing Clean Burning Carbon Neg Algae Bio Fuel that permanently sequesters 1 Ton of atmospheric CO2 for every Barrel. If the ‘U’K for example, made this transition we would permanently sequester 364 Million Tons of CO2 every year, while creating millions of new climate saving/Green Jobs and bring £Millions to local economies, using Photo Bio Reactor( PBR)Panels on buildings we could make them self reliant for Electricity, BioGas & Heating, while being Carbon Sinks, there is a housing block in Hamburg that people have been living in for 10 years self reliant for Electricity, Gas & Heating using Algae( it’s on YT), kzbin.info/www/bejne/qITGkGhnrbdrqbM

I’m super stoked that I got to come across this video as I have slowly been becoming more of a vegan in the past 3 or 4 years. I’ve slowly, casually cut out red meat and chicken and all dairy. Still dabbling in fish and eggs but the more and more I see from my wife and other people I’m wanting to keep basically all animal product out of my system

100% right about tougher prison sentences. That's what happened here in the states. The feds got involved and crushed direct action with lengthy prison sentences.

It is like a j@il... Like on de@th row... And in most cases it ends with the last inje(tion. The heartwarming story's of saved lab dogs are rare cases. But that is not a European j@il... It's often more like -gu@ntan@mo. I can't imagine how u can do a job there and be happy at the same time.

These people that treat dogs like that should be tested on instead.

These dogs never get any loving human contact or handled accordingly. Experimented on and pulled around in a cold clinical environment with no sympathy. These dogs are are intelligent sentient beings being treated in such a cruel manner. Their screaming in pain and emotional and psychological affects on these dogs has been ignored. Even protesters ignored.
