I am big fans of the meandering. Please keep it up. Cole, I 10000% agree with your assessment of social situations and introversion/extroversion. I always said I am an omnivert- that I like people but get energy by being alone.....but thinking about it, I totally want to hang with certain people when I am people drained and it rejuvenates me. Shoutout to Cole for a great deal!! Thank you for helping with that. It was such a good find. Love that yall got to try them out. We did know about the booklets!! The packaging is awesome. Drink-- we like the light better! But really enjoy both! I remember really thinking of pears with Light This has probably been asked before-but what was everyone's first whiskey that got them into whiskey? #bffBenKlepzig

Good. It's impossible to stop the meandering these days. Haha. I knew we think alike! Happy to help. And I'd do it again without hesitation! Believe it or not, Eagle Rare 10yr got me into whiskey, Eagle Rare 17 hooked me for life. -Cole

In your first video you guys mentioned this Starward may be better later on after opening. Looking back do you think this may be part of it?
@chillfiltered10 күн бұрын
It very well could be! Honestly sometimes I think it may have been my perception of Australian single malt, (which don't get me wrong, can be amazing). I may have been influenced by what I expected of it versus something in Scotland. I'm definitely gonna be honest that I can be influenced by things like that sometimes. But that's what's great about these blind tasting videos! No influence! - Cole

I have some Alton Brown aged egg nog in the freezer. It has to be like 4 years old! Trick is to put so much booze in it that it can't possibly grow bacteria. It is good though. I need to make another batch with better quality liquors.

So pro tip for having a piece of meat longer than ur grill grate: elevate the center of ur meat to drag the edges inward. A lot of people use a piece of wood placed strategically underneath the center of the meat. This will allow those edges to move inward and fit nicely on the grill. It shouldn’t affect ur cook method! Cheers

Not sure if this is common across the US but a few stores near me will have two prices for highly allocated bottles. You can buy them at retail but they have to open them at purchase or, if you want to take it home sealed, there is a decently higher cost. I kind of like that concept.
@chillfiltered2 ай бұрын
Oh wow! I had no idea some places were doing things like that. What might the price difference be for like a $150 BTAC?

Castles Curse is from the Teaninich distillery, a highland distillery. It’s one of Diageo’s (orphan barrel’s daddy warbucks) blend focused distilleries. They do not release many/any OBs, only the flora and fauna range release which does not come to the US. Fully matured in European oak, website does not specify what the barrels were previously used for. If the casks are refills then they were pretty active. MSRP is always kind of hard to deter mom for Orphan Barrel unless you’re in the industry because everything gets jacked up immediately. I’ve bought two bottles, first was $135, second was $100. Even for a 14 year, I definitely think it’s worth it at $100, gets a little more dicey at $135 or higher.

This is great information! Thanks for reaching out. I agree. This is totally worth $100.

Want to clarify the merit of the score. Straight out of the bottle it's got some flaws like having your tongue grass f*cked into oblivion. But, if you dress it up with ice or water which ultimately numbs the profile. Then it's an A-ish. Well.... that's certainly interesting.
@chillfiltered2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. Wouldn't call it that, but curious if you've tried it?
@jmoore64562 ай бұрын
@chillfiltered I generally don't give a strong opinion about a whiskey before trying it. Do you? It is not a an A worthy Rye. That grassy note is way too prominent. Unless your favorite profile is vegan, this was a disappointing release.
