do you have other taxes like city tax, prefectural tax, etc. are they included in your tax deductions stated on this video?
@kinositajona22 күн бұрын
She did not include the residence tax of 11,983 yen ($76 USD) per month for someone with gross monthly pay of 285,000 yen. However, residence tax only starts from June of the 2nd year you are working in Japan. (Because they calculate the taxed income for year 1, and make you pay it from June of year 2, year 2 tax is paid from June year 3 etc etc)

Great video! You did an amazing job breaking down the cost of living in Japan. It's really helpful to see how much you earn, spend, and save in different categories like rent, food, and entertainment. I'm planning to go to Japan soon, and this gave me a much clearer picture of what to expect. Super insightful and well explained, thanks for sharing!

What area are you living in? Because central Tokyo vs Chiba vs Kanagawa vs Osaka could be very different right? In particular, regarding rent. Maybe include at least the prefecture next time. (:
@bibianajp11 күн бұрын
that is very true. My company does pay part of my rent so I’ll only pay what is stated in the video. I live in Chiba now but it’s more towards tokyo area. I’m moving more central Tokyo next March! Thank you for your comment and advice! it is a good point!

Okay guys, honestly, just doing Anki everyday with a good deck like the keishi 1.5k + jlab and Tae Kimm's Grammar guide and then finally, the newly updated 10k deck when you are done with all that is gonna be better for you in the long run. Its easy to stick with, prioritizes root memory and kinda forces you to do it everyday. Having books physically is quite a hassle so I read all my books on my tablet or phone which works fine if you get used to it. Just get the grammar and vocab reading of the kanji from anki and you are golden my guys. If you wanna write by hand though, thats a different story.

This was very interesting to watch to compare to US salaries. I am wondering if you have any costs related to transportation or health care needs. Also, do you have any student loans that you are paying for or charitable donations? Thanks for sharing!
@bibianajp11 күн бұрын
I’m glad to hear that. Currently to and from work, my company covers the travel costs. So my travel costs will only be on weekends if i go out. I currently just have products i get from the dermatologist, so with my health insurance i just pay 2000¥ at most. I am not current paying in student loans. However every once in a while i do charitable donations! 🤍 i hope this answered your question. please let me know if u have more!

very nice video, insigthful and nicely edited, maybe instead of amounts could use percentages to keep privacy about your income, what is your opinion about gender pay difference in Japan and does it impact you, as a foreigner, a lot or not, keep up the good work. Greetings from Mexico!
@bibianajp4 ай бұрын
thank you so much for your support and advice! 🥺🤍 As a foreigner it does not directly impact me, however I do believe that in a company it’s much harder to get a promotion regardless of gender.
The cost of living seems to be increasing every year, making it harder to keep up.

😁😁 In English we say : First come first serve.
