Met him at my Radio station. Saw him live in the SF Bay Area and played him when I started out in Radio decades agao...my theme song opener to my show was "Eggplant" I knew I found my love. Michael Franks thank you for bringing your music to the world.

Superbe choc émotionnel pour moi! J'étais au concert de Royan en aout 1981 avec des amis musiciens...tous guitaristes, passionnés de jazz et de flamenco! Fabuleux!!!

The top 100 guitar players list is such a joke. Charles Icarus Johnson should be near the top of the list. Jazz fusion guys never get credit except for Holdsworth, and most people dont know who he is.

Icarus Johnson is the best guitar player next to Holdsworth.

I had the honor of working with Mel Torme in Sacramento in about 1988. He was unfailingly kind, generous, and a pleasure to work with. I hadn't been previously aware of his talents, and I was quite amazed at the ability of this gentleman, now getting on in years, to hit every single note securely, and yet never sound as if he were making any compromises, musically.

These guys are playing on the absolute limit! So awesome to see them play like that and still be musical. RIP, Paco.

Props to The Crusaders - they were at the forefront of smooth jazz mixing R&B w/jazz and funk w/their own form of “fusion”(for lack of a better term for the internet expert wankers out there!). I don’t think they ever sold out to the sappier sides of smooth jazz just to sell records - seems like they always kept it real!
