I’ve never liked the way that EVH Wolfgang Guitars look. It just looks like an amoeba. It doesn’t look mean enough. The super Strat shape just looks a lot a lot a lot cooler. A single cut/less Paul type look is a lot a lot cooler. The body shape kind of sucks and the head stock is awful.… In my humble opinion. ….I just don’t get it at all.

You need The Older Rectifier Versions, revision F or Revision G, both available as a dual and Triple 2 Channel amp heads/Rackmount version,, 100 watt and 150 watt,,,,,the newer 3 channel heads have the ugly sizzle sound vs the older amps had different transformers, have a nicer "OVERDRIVE"sound TS 9 is a "overdrive'' pedal. the metal zone is a "distortion"pedal. two entirely different effects ...

to save time for chasing tone ,sell all your equipment, add a little money saved and buy a marshall modified series, 800 or 1959 and a fryette attenuator, and celestions alnico gold speakers, and I'm not even talking about a custom guitar over $3000, you can also add a kemper next to it just in case... you will have the answer to all your tone concerns!

Boss metal zon can get some good sounds. You do have to mess with it a ton, but you can get a great lofi distortion sound and overdrive sounds, but it does depend on your amp and pickups you are using.

Yeah I was trying to use it as a boost to push the front end. A lot of people on here said use it in the loop. I could not get it to work for what I needed no matter how much I tweaked it. I changed to a modded DS1 and it work perfect.

Are you sure you're talking about H&K Tubemeister? Because it doesn't have built in effects. You probably had Grandmeister 40. Btw does this weird top end distortion refer to using built in effect distortion or to lead channel in general? Because I have Tubemeister 40 and I haven't noticed enything like this. Also, unlike some people in the comments I don't see problems with this video. Anyone can say their opinions about gear, if you don't like something doesn't mean it's bad in general and everyone should hate it.
@Guitars-GearandMusic3 күн бұрын
It was the grand meister 40. Dude it was terrible. I have had a few people on here that have said the same thing I pretty much said....it is just a fizzy amp without a lot of bottom. Even after changing the tubes a couple of times and the pre amp I still could not get a great sound out of it. The real H&K stuff is amazing however. But, this is just my opinion and it did not work for me. I said it is the worst gear I ever owned....not the worst gear in the world.
@jasonsapp7924 күн бұрын
Plenty to discuss here....the Metal Zone....i have not had one ,tried one but i wonder did you run it infront of amp like a typical boost? I have heard running it as a pre amp pedal in the loop is the deal on them. I am not a professional player but have yried out a lot of amps ... definitely bonding with a tone is personal
@Guitars-GearandMusic3 күн бұрын
I ran it in the front. I wanted to use it as a boost and tried a few pedals and for me this was one of the worst. Every one says through the loop it is pretty good but I did not want it post.

The G system. Omfg!! Had one of those, ran through a triaxis and a mesa 2-90. I’ve never been so humbled by a piece of gear before. I eventually sold it to a guy in Kazakhstan. Customs got ahold of the g system, took it all apart, SOMEHOW, then shipped it to the guy. Of course it didn’t work and I had to send a refund. Cost me 1k to fix, roughly. What a mess that thing was.
@Guitars-GearandMusic3 күн бұрын
Wow. I have never heard of anything like that. that really sux dude.
@3ngi_n33r2 күн бұрын
@ I didn’t get the insurance when I shipped it. I figured if you can drive a tank over it, surely it’d ship with no problems. Customs took a grinder and ground off the screw heads and pulled it apart for whatever reason. I guess I did it to myself. Ah well. Win some , lose some. The unit sounded good though. No issues there. Once I got it figured out that is. It was a humbling experience to say the least. Now I’m very happy with my Kemper stage/fryette power station setup. I have that running into a V30 front loaded Lickliter 4x12. 😁
@Guitars-GearandMusic2 күн бұрын
@ dude that kemper is a beast. I gigged with one of those for three years before I finally switched over to the fractal and the only reason I switched to the fractal is it does have better effects. But I do believe the amps are a little more realistic on the kemper.

Hey! What's up, Trace? So I knew your channel some time back when you made a video about "The ultimate Ibanez" (which I by the way had to watch like 10 minutes every 2 hours because I was right about to go to the music store and get myself a J Custom) and I wanted to just comment a few things about the Helix and the JIVA. So first off, my experience with the Helix is quite actually the opposite from what you said... Not because I absolutely love it to bits, but because I had quite a good time with the distortion, and a heck of a BAD time with clean tones. Now that just might be me, and I know you said you got it once it came out, so mine might be very different from what you had, but I wanted to just share my comments on it for anyone who's wondering about it. About the JIVA... So I'll go straight to the point, I'm pretty much married to Ibanez, I've tried a hell load of brands out there, and I feel Ibanez just does everything better. Now, I understand there might be some Schecter fans out there (too wide necks, sorry, not into that), Jackson fans (I respect you, but I will always prefer the size, shape, and control distribution of an RG) and all sorts of others, but I end up always preferring Ibanez (and I can't stop loving the Edge Zero bridge with the ZPS, best thing ever invented from bridges in my perspective and my way of playing), and I just wanted to point out I've never had a single issue with them. The only thing I've noticed is that whatever the factory set that guitar's action to, do NOT expect it to be lower than that, that's just it. Aside from that, wonderful guitars, no problem whatsoever, no clue why that happened to you with the JIVA, but I did want to share that. Cheers!
@Guitars-GearandMusic3 күн бұрын
thanks for the comment. yeah these were my experiences and could be very different from every one elses. And that is why I stressed mine was the very first rendition of the unit and the distortion was not great and I also said that a lot of people are getting really good tones now....but apparently my comments really pissed a lot of people off. but that comes with having a youtube channel. And the Jiva...one of worst guitars I have ever had.....and anyone who watches my channel knows how much I love Ibanez guitars. That guitar was such a disappointment....and I had 3. Also....my friend at GC said that in 2021 that was the most returned guitar they had. Hopefully they have gotten better.

The TC g System is still today an incredible solution for touring players. When it came out in 2009 the g system paved the way and set standards for today's high end processors. The quality alone is unparalel and the fx algorithms are (still today) on par with the new generation processors.

I have a Helix rack mount and know what you mean about the original however it has improved so much with the upgrades and…learning how to use it. If you’ve got the patience to play around and work with it you will get a great piece of kit and value for money. I use it live and in the studio. I find gear is a bit like learning how to play. You put the effort in with patience and application. Why would you not do the same with gear?

Oh LOL no credibility dude. If you can't get a good tone out of a Metal Zone, it's all your fault. It's a parametric EQ of extreme power, but it's 100% able to be tamed. I've done it. You failed miserably, don't blame the gear. People in 2025 who bitch about the Metal Zone are just outing themselves as incompetent at best, and stupid at worst.
@EYOUTz19936 күн бұрын
I got a Wolfgang Special from Sweetwater, it had a bit of shift in the neck from loose screws. Found it when suddenly I noticed the same thing, the high E being right on the edge of the fretboard. So I aligned the strings, tightened the screws, rechecked intonation/tuning for a couple adjustments, and it's continued to be one of the very best playing guitars I've ever had.

I have a Grandmeister 36 and tried a Grandmeister 40 which was supposed to be better, i disagree. It was weak. Not sure if they're built the same but i think it's the best low wattage amp i've had. It does have a bit of fizz as some ppl say but I like s slight fizz because it adds a grittier, less bland characteristic to the distortion. Just bought a stealth 50 so lets see how this goes! Check out the Valeton GP-200 multi effects pedal also.

I never met an amp I didn't like... even a Fender Frontman... times got really hard and my cousin gave it to me so I had something... anything to plug into. I can't criticize even that thing. Just gotta know how to dial tone. Also, when I refer to my bandmates... I don't even call my enemies sorry asses. And the Suhr? Sounds more like buyers remorse... You couldn't afford it. I have never heard so much nit picking. The odds of any of these claims being true is .0001% I have had very few issues with gear in my lifetime. Where is your gear btw? I just see some motercross helms and a weird Vader statue. Why people make these streams.
