I know this game is about grief of losing a loved one. I had a somewhat different experience with it. I have complex ptsd from various things. Going through this game was the very symbol of putting yourself back together after tragedy. When she found her voice- when she was running from her demons- when she was trapped down below surrounded by broken statues and you get an achievement called “anger” if you break them… all cycles of recovery from grief. Whether grief of losing oneself or another. This game is really beautiful and I’m so glad I played it.

Wow. I remember finishing this game and doing the same thing. It was late at night, I was just sitting there, holding a controller and weeping and I actually didn’t really know why, at least not in a way words could describe. Seeing this video was a nice reminder of that moment and knowing other people experienced the same thing feels like a vindication to me. A confirmation of empathy, sorta. I know I’m commenting on this years later, sorry I’m so late to the party. Thank you for reminding me about how deeply impactful this game and its art and music are.

Just finished the game, what an emotional ride. I actually only started playing it for achievements on my Xbox and I was dragged into the depths of my own soul. It reminded me we can come back from the darkness. Beautiful experience ❤

Fun fact, Pokémon plat is know to be one of, if not the, hardest Pokémon game to nuzlock. As far as I am aware, Dupe clause only applies to caught Pokémon.

Mawile was one-shot killed because Thundershock is a special attack and Mawile's special defense is garbage. Mawile is a glass cannon: decent physical attack and defense, but HP and all other stats are low.

I have not played this yet, but I'm not sure I want to, because it moves me even when I am not playing, I have no idea how I will react when I've actually grown attached to these characters and have to say goodbye for myself.

Really late to the party, however I've looked through the comments and have already watched the clips from the stream itself. She doesn't consider the ruin a win, and was heartbroken to fail. He community in stream that day thought that the RNG she was getting was utter bs, as basically everyone she fought for nearly nothing but crits. She didn't want to feel like a cheater, and she was working so hard, but it was her community that wanted her to give it another try with the same team, not her. She decided to go with what her community wanted, and that's something that in all of the comments and videos I've seen was never been expressly stated. I love that you say the nuzlocke community doesn't want to gatekeep as that is true for the majority. There are some sweaty tryhard purists though, like many gaming communities. The split and the artistic interpretation was masterfully, tear-jerkingly done and i think of you haven't seen his reaction; Moxie2d perfectly summarized when he realized what happened.

I haven’t watched much in the vid yet but I want to note that your first tip I kind of disagree with. If cleaned up my entire farm before I finished the first few quests and officially started the game which was a good idea as the at first day, even tho your stamina goes down you can keep going as much as you want. For me it was worth it cleaning up my whole farm and I also went out and collected as much stuff as I could since I had never ending stamina and this helped me my first few days as I was able to make things I needed easier without having to go collect more stuff

I swear Jaiden’s copy of Platinum had a 500% increase in critical hit chance, the RNG was so bad for the entire run

The reason she got the Wooper despite the Dupes Clause was because she missclicked when she was meant to hit run instead Since she still technically caught Wooper, she decided to keep it & move on despite the dupes clause

I've played a few Nuzlockes, almost won my first one, yet lost in the finals in Shield. And I had Bronzong. Platinum was the definite Hard mode, (forget about Nuzlockes!) especially with the E4, and Champion. I almost always went in with a Garchomp of my own.

Dup's claws only works if you catch the Pokemon

She does know dusk balls, fast balls and timer balls are a thing right which against first form pokemon with 2 more evolutions are more than good enough to give a decent catch chance, it may take 10 - 20 throws, but it's better than fainting a good encounter in a Nuzlock.

Gyarados has a 4x electric weakness though and electric is far more common than dragon, you only have to worry about Dragon from Cynthia and her Garchomp and Riley with his Salamence for electric you have a whole gym Byron's Magneton, Marley's Electrode, Mira's Magneozone so I don't see it as being a particular problem especially if you speed EV it so it can hit first against other dragons with Carbos, but of a waste of EVs to be fair given he's not fast. I would say it's more of a problem with growth rate, how late he evolves and how not good his pre-evolutions are, but apart from that he's fine.
