Queen Spring Day! Glad you reacted to this masterpiece! 💜 Spring Day was not written as a fan song. At its core, it’s about missing someone close to you, with the lyrics able to be interpreted in many ways depending on everyone’s personal experience with loss. RM got the idea of this song after seeing a leaf fall in a park. Suga’s verse is personal to him as he talks about his close friend that he lost connections with. It got a fan song meaning only during the pandemic when BTS used this song to express how much they miss ARMY and how hard it was for them for not being able to see them in person. But in reality, Spring Day is much, much deeper in meaning. Please watch the Official MV and then Italian ARMY’s Spring Day Explanation video, the one with less views, because it’s a must. Every reactor is asked to watch the explanation of the MV due to its importance. It’s a song so beloved by Koreans and international fans alike that it’s currently the most streamed song in South Korean history and just recently broke another record by being the first song in history to surpass 1 billion streams on South Korea’s top music streaming app Melon. It’s been recognized as a timeless classic by critics and is known by ARMYS as “The Queen” since it never left the Korean charts since its release in 2017! The song, but more specifically the MV, hold the memory of 304 people, 250 of them being young students, who tragically drowned in the Sewol Ferry in 2014 due to incompetence and government corruption. It’s the main reason why it’s so important to Koreans, but to pretty much everyone who’s lost a loved one. BTS donated 1/3 of their annual income to the families of the victims and also went and met them in person in the year following the tragedy, at a time where the government was blacklisting anyone brave enough to speak up about it or the government’s corruption. BTS never completely confirmed it due to obvious circumstances stated above, but only in 2020, Jin, one of the members, said in an interview that “it is about a sad event (…), but it is also about longing”, so that’s pretty much the only confirmation we have of the MV’s connection to the tragedy. But if you watch the explanation, you’ll realize how everything in the MV relates to it! 💜

Great reaction - but that was very funny you said 'Gimme Chocolate' does not scream BABYMETAL to you and sounds too sweet and innocent for them. For a whole lot of people just the mention of their name makes them think of this song and nothing else .... often because this was the first and only song by BABYMETAL they ever listened to. This was the video that went viral in 2014, it has something like 190 million views or more - and largely because of the shock value and WTF reactions it gets. As a first thing to hear it can go either way - some people are curious to hear more and get dragged straight into the Foxhole, too many are put off, think it is a joke or a gimmick and just assume every other song will be like this. You did it the right way, you've heard how much more they can do, how varied and diverse their songs are and you've come to hear 'Gimme Chocolate' knowing all that and knowing what they are about. So this song - they just want chocolate, but they're a bit worried about their weight. However, its chocolate, it would be so nice, they would be so happy and they worked so hard .... so can they just have a piece of chocolate please?🍫🍫🍫

Unfortunately for too many reactors their first experience with BABYMETAL is this performance and the shock of it can be polarizing (they choose this because it has the most views)

It includes a bunch of stuff, but of particular note are the official recordings of their tour performances when they decide it's extremely important to upload them. I'm really glad "Growing Pain" is included on the list. The live performance for this is so much fun. The members have said they love this section of the setlist a lot, and you can really tell. They look like they're having the best time. (Considering they use the same guitar in each performance, I would assume it's just a prop and not an actual instrument. Hyuka can play guitar, but you can tell he's just acting in this performance which makes me believe it's not real haha.)

Official videos, unless Live is in the title, is always studio audio over live footage. I advise to avoid them like the plague.

Thank you for a fun reaction <3 I hate to see any of them cry, but it's also oddly heartwarming to see the proof of how much they love each other...SuA tearing up because she misses Siyeon hurts, but it's also sweet to see she cares so much. It sucks that Dami's mic wasn't working well during the showcase, but at least it's proof they were all singing live. Not that any real Somnias had doubts XD So far, we don't have any confirmation about who choreographed "2 Rings," which makes me think it probably wasn't SuA this time. I think they just hype up whoever takes the solo bit at the end there, because when Yoohyeon did it at a recent fansign, they were all yelling "Kim Yoo-hyeon," instead haha. A choreographer reactor I watched pointed out that it seems like they may not have had very much time to practice "2 Rings" before the showcase...Gahyun especially almost forgot the choreo at one point, but she kept going like nothing happened. We stan professionals. The OT7 for "Justice" just looks so good...but it also made me appreciate it how much they did to make sure it still looks good with six of them. Also, I know DC isn't a group where synchronization is their main selling point, but _damn,_ they're so synchronized in "JUSTICE." If you have the chance to react to the DancEAR performance, highly recommend that. It's both OT7 and has *amazing* vocals.

Absolutely love AKMU! Thanks for reacting. They're very underrated for international K-Pop fans but are extremely popular in South Korea. The brother is older. He writes and produces all of their songs. They were just 18 and 15 when they debuted back in 2014. You'll probably love the MVs for 2 of the songs they sang here ... "How can I love the heartbreak, you're the one that I love" and "How People Move". You'd probably want to check those out next. BTW, "How can I love the heartbreak..." which was released in 2019 is apparently still charting to this day.

Nice one. The song is nearly 5 years old, it was on the Metal Galaxy album released in 2019. Tim Henson and Scott LePage recorded the original guitar tracks for that recording, the FOX_FEST events two or three months ago were the first time they and BABYMETAL got the chance to perform it live together. Polyphia are a mainly instrumental Prog Rock band from Texas.

Tim and Scott are from the instrumentalist band Polyphia. Tim and Scott already announced they will be collaborating again with BM in the future for their next album

Of course, we all want Siyeon to get better as soon as possible, but the other members have done a good job covering for her while she's getting better, too, which is heartwarming. Some of the content they're releasing still has her in it because it was filmed prior to the actual comeback date, though, like that 1theK video the other comment mentioned. Anyway, I've been streaming this song as often as I can to try and help their views, and I'm still not sick of it. It's so fun.

Good reaction - looks like my original comment disappeared and I forget everything I said ... I think I included something about knowing exactly what you mean about the growls, but I think they're not excessive or out of place if you listen to the whole thing again without pausing, they fit and the contrast between them and the clean melodies etc work really well together. I know I said more (I nearly always do) probably about the official MV and other live performances, but if YT is messing about again I'll leave it there.

Electric Callboy is an electronicore band, though they've been called paytycore as all their music is basically Euro dance and pop mixed with metal. All of their music does have harsh vocals to my knowledge. If you don't like harsh vocals, wait till you get to BMTH's Kingslayer. 😆

The visuals in it are inspired by the movie _Your Name,_ if you know what that is. It's very pretty. The Japanese version of this song was the song that got me into TXT and to give Kpop a second chance after I had a bad introduction to it. I really love this style. Yeah, it's kind of emo, but it's really fun and cathartic to sing along to. Names for this video: In "LOVESONG," the members have pretty distinct appearances, so I won't timestamp them, but use descriptions. The blond is Kai (you got him right!); the one with silver hair is Taehyun (he's the one with the raspiest voice here); the one with long black hair is Beomgyu--who burned down the car, like the other comment said; the one with short black hair that's parted so you can see the forehead is Yeonjun (you were right that his name started with a Y when you tried to guess in the beginning!); the one with short black hair covering the forehead is Soobin (you got him right!).
