Disagree on Edina and Apple Valley - I think both are way more $ in terms of the average cars you see on the streets. You're more likely to see the beater cars in the area or W/E/N/S St. Paul/Mpls area. Definitely agree on the small towns with their trucks and lift kits!

I love how Maple Grove is a Chevy Traverse and then Plymouth just south of it is a Maserati, even though Plymouth is basically a bunch of industrial parks.

I grew up in MG I would actually say that I enjoyed my time in Maple grove a little bit more! Just more to do! But plymouth is closer to Wayzata and saint louis park which is really nice for me!!

Be careful using median prices but average wages to contrast COL. Median is the most commonly occurring number in the middle of the range. It's the number that most people will see in real life. Average is a mathematical mean. It can be brought up by a tiny handful of extremely high earners. It doesn't necessarily reflect the reality for most people. In terms of weather, both Dallas and Mpls have about 40-60 days a year where the outdoor temp is unbearable for most. Too cold in Mpls; too hot in Dallas. Bottom line is that you're stuck indoors. But in cold weather, you can get warm clothing and bundle up. We have people who engage in winter sports here in negative 20F. In hot weather, there is only so much you can take off. Plus, Dallas' hot weather is also accompanied by a slate of poisonous critters -- scorpions, snakes, etc.

@@Austin612Realtor They are cities. There's more cities/towns in Minnesota than just the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The #1 ranked best hospital in the world is located an hr south. Which is also the 3rd largest city in Minnesota. Rochester never ends up on any Minnesota tier list. It's not just you guys, it's all these "Minnesota" KZbinrs that only name the twin cities and their suburbs.
