One of the best sitcoms ever made, after steptoe of course,. Every character was just perfect, topped off by the classic landlord Ken with his idle but doting Mum Jean upstairs. Hilarious every time the cleaner wound her up and she reached for the inhaler, was in stitches every time.

I first saw Funny Bones when it came out (I was 13). This scene has been etched in my head ever since... it had such a wild impact on my creativity and what I wanted my life to FEEL like. I still feel like I'm searching for this feeling again and again... No matter how many times I revisit Funny Bones, it remains *exactly* as magical as it was when I was a kid. (Also am I the only one who was pretty much in love with the character Jack Parker, but also kind of wanted to be him, at the same time? Who wouldn't, after a performance like this, right?!)

This scene is GENIUS! I searched everything Evans did after. Always top notch. A rarely perfect physical comedian, with acting chops and perfect timing. He’s up there with Keaton, Lloyd, Skelton, and Lewis at his best. That’s some royal comedic company! But Evans in this film was revelatory! But everyone in this movie is wonderful! An underrated beautiful classic. The tossing plates bit is iconic. Music! Timing! What a unique wonderful film. And NO ONE better that Evans!

Noticeably, there's not one frame of this in the film's trailer. They obviously didn't want to spoil it for the audience and instead they let its complete insanity hit out of the blue...

As good as Jerry Lewis was at his peak, Lee Evans takes Lewis's "schtick" and makes it look like Lewis is running on fumes. I saw this film when it originally hit theatres, I thought it was pretty dull at first, but it sure gathered speed quickly. I had never seen Lee Evans before and would not see him again until one of his videos came up in my " Recommended " queue. But this movie...all that I remembered about it was this man. Lee Evans, comedy genius.

The Farrelly Brothers wasted Evans in "There's Something About Mary" but look for Evans & Platt reteamed in "Mouse Hunt". Much better than you'd think from the title. And on the serious side, in "Freeze Frame" he is totally twisted and brilliant...

Lee Evans played the most incredible tortured and misunderstood clown character I think that really exists as an example in film. The kind of thing you can only normally get from a live stage performance. This movie is worth watching just to see him do it.
