Several years too late for comments probably but yes I would love to see a 10+ channel Amplifier. (11 channel with that large-ish sub output would be perfect for Tesla vehicles and probably many others with advanced DSP multi-speakers systems.)

You spoke at the beginning about 3.5 coax with some setup that won't work. That made me wonder if the setup I am creating is viable. What do you think? The dual 12” BassWedge system is truly an interesting enclosure that you have to hear to understand. They have extraordinary low end extension. The value packed into them is outstanding. The W0 is an oddball driver from a T/S parameter perspective, so to hear it perform with authority and reasonable musicality on such modest power was very pleasantly surprising! Only downside is that they are VERY difficult to cohesively blend into the rest of your system - they do not have a very flat response curve, so keep that in mind.

What if I want to tune EQ on the stereo or increase bass boost? Do I adjust the gain on that tuned setup? Should the output be based on the speaker not the amp? What if I’m powering a 600W sub with a 1000W mono? Don’t I want to calculate a lower voltage to send to the speaker?

@jlaudio Although these are nice amps, i feel they may be underpowered. Take a look at the 6.5 inch C7 speakers running at 4 ohms,. they have a rating of 125 rms but the vx only pushes 75 rms at 4 ohms. You cant bridge them because that would put them out of warranty range. The HD 600 x4 channel would be beter suited as those push 150 RMS and well inline with the 50-175 rms power rating.. people want more power but choosing to use the VX amps you'd be leaving 75 watts on the table

JL's answer to a changing market is to increase prices by 200% while resting on the laurels of the W7 and the slash series amplifiers while constantly falling behind in equipment specs everywhere else in the lineup. Sure they make a decent product but I'm starting to get to ask myself more and more, for who?

As a customer, I found this information useful but I found it 30 days late. I built a 2007 Nissan 350 convertible with 2 12TW3 D4 pre loaded in truck boxes from JL. 1 coil on each speaker burnt on me recently, literally a day apart. My retailer wasn't any help as they put a single 8 gauge power wire to my vocal amp then piggy backed off of it to my sub amp. I rewired when I found this. I was a MECP Installer years ago. I'm currently an electro mechanical engineering technician for NCR. I'm planning on having the coils replaced as my car has not much space and those 12s hit hard and fit nicely. They made my drive amazing when I finally had time to go drive. No one could figure out where such loud sound was coming from because I mounted them in the spaces where the rear glove boxes use to be. Everyone would look in the trunk and go where are your huge subs. When I say behind my seats and they wouldn't believe it. If I had the money to blow, Id probably try to throw 2 more of those subs back there so I could cross that 150 dB mark with 4 JL 12s. I waited long time to finally have these subs. Ever since the W-6s. I just never could afford them. JL subs have been the pin up on my wall of have what I would have some day. if anyone at JL thinks they could help me, I would definitely appreciate it. I still remember the blue Chevy Barretta with the three JL12s that won the national championship. It was a big deal. using three subs was such anew concept back then. I read that article at least a hundred times. I was enthralled by the install. right behind the fold down back seats. It was a new concept back then.

The E112 is great both on sound quality and how deep it plays but the total output is average at best, especially for a sub this expensive. Its likely due to no ports. I sold mine.

I love my JL home subs. I'd love to replace my car audio with JL speakers (keeping the original infortainment center) unfortunately very few installers have upgraded the standard cars such as accord, camry etc. I see a ton of posts for people asking about getting it done but few professional installers that know how to do it. Can you imagine how much JL sales would increase if they had JL installation centers where they already were ready. You say I have a stock Toyota Crown and they say - OK you'll need the JL DSP, the JL 6 processor amp, 4 harnesses, these converters, these power loops, the JL seperates for the front, these 2 ways for the back, you can have this small stock sub or a giant trunk consuming sub, we'll run the voice for navigation through here...
