Why don’t you cut the line and the let hook rust out. You’re keeping those small native browns and destroying the population. A 6 inch brown isn’t a keeper.

Hey I need your help! I have two baby pigeons that have over stayed their welcome. It’s been 3 weeks and they seem to have most of their feathers. The parents are still around. I need to evict them because of the mess they are making on my balcony. Can I move out with a broom? Will they be okay? I don’t know what to do.

Bullheads come in 3 common varieties. Yellow bullheads ,brown bullheads, and black bullheads. Many states have a no limit regulation for bullheads because they reproduce profusely and become stunted. Even a small bullhead can be quite old. In clean water they are quite tasty to eat. Don't know the rules at Grass Valley but there are probably millions of bullheads in that lake.

Well unfortunately everytime they hit they would swallow the hook down to their stomachs even if i tried to hook them off the nibble, so if I threw them back they were sure to die. I think its because of my hook size, next time I'm up there I'm using size 12. Usually I wouldn't keep them.

@@basshawg6449 fly fishing isn't for everyone.. I got into it as a kid caught a few on the fly and put it down. I prefer spinning gear with rapalas and spinners. I still do toss flies with casting bubbles. Bait fishing complaining they swallowed the hook too deep is just lazy fishing. Picked up the fly rod again and wifes pissed at the hundreds of dollars in flies. Robinson creek is not a catch and release fishery really also. Its just regulated to protect the spawning browns. The planters don't take a fly as reasily as a native or a nice brown.

Hi, you have to own property in Lake Arrowhead to fish there, but I think you can rent a bed and breakfast or weekend rental and still use the Lake rights, but only on the public dock at the marina, which I've been hearing is really good for 5+ pounders right now.

I keep pigeons/doves. They’re delicious. Very fast reproducers like rabbits. They can have a clutch of two eggs 3-4 times a year possibly more depending on food supply and weather. I have a good mating pair that are on their fifth clutch this year. The female lays her new clutch when the squabs are about 3-4 weeks old. In the central California farmers welcome people willing to shoot them because there are so many trying to eat the cattle feed, chicken feed etc. There is no hunting season or bag limit on pigeons so it’s free food. If you can find a supermarket that sells pigeon meat you’ll be surprised how expensive it is.

A few important things would be bring water to bring water for the hike (that's probably obvious lol) and dont fish on the beach area. The best spots are on a path to the right side facing the lake. And where we were catching non stop is about at the midpoint of the lake on that path (theres a little sandbar in the water that could be a marker to go by). We stopped there because we were catching but we never got to the end of the lake where there is a creek that flows into the lake, so that might also be a good spot. Also, it might be reasonable to think that there are really big fish in this lake, so maybe bringing a heavy sinker to try to cast deeper would be something to try. Red/orange sherbert power bait and worms are what we used, but I think any bait would work here, and we started fishing at 12pm so I dont think time of day is too important. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

It seems the best bait for catfish and sunfish would be worms, but I heard over at the dam at the end where the rocks are is great for big bass (worms or crawfish/frog plastic baits). If your looking for catfish just cast a worm as far out as you can. Usually the first bench to the right of the entrance (facing the lake) works for me. Oh and just before sundown is when you will get the most action. Thanks for watching!

@@andrewbent6328 Hi! I was actually fishing there this past saturday evening with some friends. I used size 8 mosquito hooks and 12 pound test, with heavy and medium split shots clipped on. Super simple set up. Unfortunately the water level has gone down a foot or so since I was there in early june, so the spot I was at near that gate wasnt hitting too well due to it being less than a foot deep (though I did catch a couple casting past the grass). Mainly we caught at the first bench to the right of the entrance just casting out, and we caught a bunch of green sunfish as well. One interesting thing was when we were leaving another fisherman told us that people catch really big bass at the rocky dam at the right end of the lake, but we didnt have time to fish it. Generally this lake is better closer to sun down. Thanks for watching!
