The Cure are a band that just transends everything. Incredible band. They own their own sound so completely you know immediately who they are from the opening seconds you know who they are. So thoughtful and just insanely creative.

Never ceases to amaze me how fabulous they sound live. This could have been a studio recording for how clean and well it was played. Absolutely fantastic.

I was a young backpacker in Asia when this album dropped. I remember bying the cassette in a music shop in Singapore. The next day I took a boat to an island that belonged to Indonesia, and afer a couple of more days of waiting took a slow boat up a river into Sumatra. I played the Disintegration album over and over and over (as Robert would say and sing) as I watched the jungles along the river's edge slowly pass by. I was in my own world transported there by the magical sounds of this album, which ultimately became the soundtrak to my entire trip through Asia. a journey that would last over 14 months. To this day, whenever I hear any of the Disintegration songs I am immediately transported to the joungles of Sumatra, or riding the rails in India, or sitting still while taking in the breathless heights of the Himalaya in Nepal. This music is balm for the soul . . .

I agree. The Cure are just so intelligent with regard to the human condition. In my darkest moments they resonated more than anyone. Since the 70s they have been one of my go to bands. Saw them in 2019 at the Sydney Vivid festival doing the whole Disintegration album. Bucket list stuff. Such a thoughtful, interesting and clever bands. Love them always.

I'm a Boris fan and understand the respect but.....Simon and Jason, together, put a lock-down (excuse the pun) on the foundation of the tracks that bring a weightiness to the sound of newer Cure material as well as their live older renditions. He has finesse yet impact and power when needed. No, he is not the imaginative percussionist that Boris is but he is a fresh perspective and more fitting for the direction Robert and Simon wanted to take the band. Boris was just done. He seemed to not want any part of the glam, fame and touring aspects of this business. This wasn't his arena so to speak and he was more of a studio musician who enjoyed the creative pursuits of the biz more so than the performance part of it. This is my take and understanding from some people I've talked with over the years.

This type of lyric itself is a poetry, a fervent declaration of the purest love and longing that can be felt, nowadays nobody is interested in this type of songs because they live daily in the superficiality in the vanal and meaningless, believing that it is true love, they are not interested in knowing what is very deep down in the same deep waters of someone they love

I wish all of their recordings were this dynamic, and 'Plus' has added compression. The original Entreat is one of the best raw live recordings out there. In fact, its sonics trump the band's studio album. Ironically, it actually sounds like a studio album more than the studio album itself...drawing you deeper into the experience as if you were right there!
