Graet video! I was wondering what static pressure is the fan designed to? Also, by closing the openings, what level of static pressure would the interior of the ducting reach to allow the collapse?

Ehsan, the pressure during the demonstration was 4"-6" of H2O. The collapse point for all air duct systems differs in vacuum/pressure ratings. Static pressure levels for this application, air duct cleaning, are determined by the fan tip speed, volumetric flow through the fan, and the amount of make-up air that is able to enter the vacuum system (ductwork). If the duct system were to be completely sealed off, such that ZERO CFM of make-up air was allowed to enter, the Electrak has the capability to manage 9" H2O of static pressure. This feature of the Electrak is what makes it so attractive to air duct cleaners in commercial and high-profile jobs. Running the vacuum at pressures over 5" (where most of the competition maxes out) allows for an operator to continue moving air through the filter bank and reduce shut-downs for filter changes.

When cleaning flex duct or fiberglass lined duct work, special care should be taken to ensure the integrity of the substrate is not damaged. Using compressed air blowing nozzles is generally recommended, though there are many cleaners that have regulated their systems to use lower pressure/volume of air through a variety of whip tools to effectively clean in ducts that are not as sturdy or resilient. Always choose your cleaning tool erring on the side of caution, if you think it might be too aggressive for the application it is never a bad idea to be gentle.
