Looks like some cheapskate maintenance has been performed on it, it would make someone a great tractor, that gives a shit about it, and performs the maintenance the right way, instead of the cheapskate way!! Pitiful to see machinery treated this way!!!

These are good little skidders with bad winches. If Tigercat is going to make cable skidders they need to work out a deal with JD to build there winches like they had on the rear ends.

@@stevenwescott1422 ok that’s good to hear mate 👍 I live in Tasmania we mostly log hardwood eucalyptus & we do grow pine here as well, so my experience with the 848L 2 series has not been great I wouldn’t say terrible but just not what I was expecting, I have run two of them for a couple of different companies and both of them pretty much new . So the problems that I experienced with both machines were consistent hydraulic issues some electric issues the air ride seat had broken in both of them and starter motor problems , were all fixed of course but the hydraulic issue did always remain as a problem mainly the grapple not holding it’s correct holding pressure and letting go , thought I may have been working them to hard but wasn’t the case . so we get it fixed run well for a little while and start doing it again and that’s down time I’m not sure if they have resolved the issue with them has I don’t work for those companies anymore but on the other hand when they were running right very good machine nice power and I did like the visibility out of the cab good 4wd , diff lock system worked great.
