what if i want to just want to sell pharmacy without any money like give away files to cvs and inventory does it have to go thru all road block too?

It’s tough though risking-reward. Could try independent but right now I have a low stress 165k spot with grocery store chain 5 weeks PTO

My store is set up as a C-Corp. Can I still let the store pay for my wife and I's health insurance? I have been paying for it out of my household income.

The pharmacy could definitely pay for your health insurance as owners of the C-Corp. However, this benefit would have to be made available to all eligible employees. This would be recorded on the company's books as Employee Health Insurance expense.

Can’t you put down 5% and the seller put up the other 5% in seller’s equity to fulfill the equity requirement?

Yes you can, but the 5% seller note has to be on standby (not payments) for the length of the loan.

This was a great presentation. Would love to hear the speakers thoughts today, as much as the market has changed in 5 years. I’m 12 years as an independent pharmacist, non-owner, and have an opportunity to purchase.

Thanks for taking the time to view the video and comment. The business has changed a lot over the past few years. Margins have decreased and competition from PBMs in particular has made things more difficult. However more than ever an independent has more options in terms of lines of business than ever before from immunizations, point of care testing, labs, compounding, LTC etc. Independent pharmacies have to adapt to the changing healthcare market and the ones who do will capitalize on the changing environment. What about your thoughts on opening an independent pharmacy store? Is there a possibility that this can be done in the future where the pharmacy tech can work the store with a virtual pharmacist? Love to get your thoughts ……

Kim - we own and operate independent pharmacies. We help people every day open pharmacies so it is definitely possible. As for opening with a virtual pharmacist, I do not see this in the near future as we have not heard any rumors regarding it. They are starting to allow technicians to do much more such as immunizations and work telepharmacy locations.
