is this link compatible with Stumpjumper Evo Elite Alloy?

Is there a kit like this for the 2024 Ripmo AF, and do you have numbers on weight and stiffness differences? Thank you. I'm an idiot, I just checked your site and realized this is mostly to change the progression rate. I imagine that voids the frame warranty then? One thing I'm a bit confused about though is you say this is mainly for increased DH performance, but the progression curve seems to show a lot of the progression in the first 20mm of shock stroke. Wouldn't that also mean less bob when climbing?
@CascadeComponentsАй бұрын
Off the top of my head I'm not sure what the weight difference is, but with the AF link it's extremely small. It's a really small link so the there's not much weight to lose or gain. The frame warranty question is one we can't really provide an answer to. The only thing I'll say is that it is not legal in the US for an aftermarket part to void a warranty. A warranty can disclaim damage due to an aftermarket part, but it is not allowed for a warranty to be voided for the presence of one. We don't get into the technicality of climbing performance too often. Mostly because we don't want people to expect changes that they won't notice. Anything that increases mid-stroke support helps with pedaling, so a number of our links technically improve pedaling as well. In reality that is not especially noticeable.
@MrFragManiacАй бұрын
@@CascadeComponents Thank you, Ibis seem pretty good with support, I'm just not sure how they'd feel about a custom link that changes the kinematics.

Will this work with a 2023 performance elite Dhx2?
@CascadeComponentsАй бұрын
The V2 Hightower doesn't have enough room in the shock tunnel for 90% of coils. With a 500 lb spring or softer, you can install that shock, but it is very tight.
@GrifftheDudeАй бұрын
@cascadecomponents I want to use it on a spire. Just want to clarify it fits on shocks that don’t already have HSR adjust like the DHX2 performance elite.
@CascadeComponentsАй бұрын
@@GrifftheDude Ahhh I just assumed it was the Hightower for some reason. With the Spire you can use any spring rate. It works both with and without the adjuster.
@mitchardnixonfulАй бұрын
@@CascadeComponents i'm considering this for the spire, also. are there any notable geo or progression changes that happen with it?
@CascadeComponentsАй бұрын
@@mitchardnixonful It more accurately corrects the geo for the smaller rear wheel. As far as progression and travel to, it's very similar to what it would be without it. Technically there's a little more ramp and a little more travel, but not enough that I would expect anyone to notice.

The long shock kit is more about decreasing the average leverage ratio significantly. This is most beneficial to heavier riders who are up against max pressure with the stock link, however it does make it easier to tune damping as well.

Hopefully the Cascade will complement the WRP. P.S. It would have been nice to order Cascade in a close match color of Kashima for those of us who run Fox Factory. The WRP has that option.

Hello Cascade Components - is there any test/review available on how exactly the new link will adjust the Rise? Would be great to hear some practical feedback. Any chance that it may solve the typical creaking issue and would it help stiffening up a bit the relatively flexible rear triangle? Being a potential EU buyer - I am also waiting any news on the EU availability to! ;-)
@CascadeComponents Жыл бұрын
It's just making its way out to people right now so impressions should start popping up soon. All I'll say is the link dramatically improves how the bike descends. As for the creaking, the key to that is the preload kit. Bolting across from one link to the other prevents the small amount of movement that can cause creaking and the links moving on the pivot spline.
@cookie13spike Жыл бұрын
I just installed mine and feel the rear end is much improved, alot less lateral flex than the original links. I'm also expecting the preload keeps the bike quiet, but still imagine that pivot will need regular servicing as crap gets in the bearings.
