I still think Giygas/Giegue from the previous games had it worse. Caught in the middle of a conflict between humanity and their species over PSI, being defeated and driven insane by human emotions they were never supposed to experience, and becoming obsessed with revenge and grief to the point of becoming a mass of negative PSI.

Fun fact: there is a way that Porky can die. As someone once stated, the fact that you can see Porky through the mirror means that light can shine through, meaning that with a very hot laser, you can theoretically melt the window and escape. Fun fact 2: Laser stands for Light Amplificated by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation, the reason why this works.

I like the idea that Claud’s helmet was a new version of the devils machine Porky made, and he was trying to recreate a new entity of evil, since Porky himself could never use PSI.
@invisi-bullexploration2374Ай бұрын
I've been putting strings on a corkboard and I came up with a really messed up theory that I can't really grasp fully. The idea is that at some point Porky appeared before Giygas. Not the Porky at the beginning of Mother 2 but some future variant. Porky made a Faustian bargain and Giygas got burned. The deal was the Porky could give this guy power to change things. Giygas accepted the offer and got immediately turned into a tornado of psychic agony by the Mani Statue Porky had in tow. Porky enslaved the entity and controlled its army by proxy. This is where it gets Terminator 2. One of the primary objectives of Porky was always to get the statue to/corrupt his past self. Giygas's rampage was simply a distraction. Except Giygas was calling out in psychic pain and attempting a deus ex machina of sorts so it could die and be free. I am convinced the cut boss battle in Mother 3 was a final battle against the statue. The tragedy was that Porky was as insane as Giygas but unlike the alien Porky lacked the self-awareness that something was wrong. Which is why he was chosen by the statue to begin with. But his particular source of corruption was delivered by... Himself. Now driven insane he leaves his family to begin the cycle.
If you are ever scared of death and whar happens after, just remember, not dying and living forever is MUCH, MUCH WORSE.

Imagine living the events described in the movie "Groundhog's Day." You relive the exact same day over and over again and no matter what you do, at the end of the day, time resets. Now imagine going through that movie, but you experience it after a traumatic accident has fully paralyzed your body and voice. All you can do is move your eyes and breathe. Which is worse? Most would say the second option. It is the removal of agency, the inability to act or be heard that transitions this from a Hell to a Purgatory. Eternity being able to think but not act is the worst punishment a human being can receive.

Even though I haven't played Mother 3 yet, I've known about the fate of Porky for quite some time and honestly, there are fates that rival this one. One such fate is the fate of Lazarus in Star Trek in which case he ends up trapped in the hellish realm between the universe and it's anti-matter counterpart where he is stuck fighting his anti-matter clone for all of eternity. Another fate that comes to mind is chronos withdrawal from Katana Zero in which case the victim (whose dead to everyone else btw) ends up reliving the final agonizing moments before their death over and over again in their mind with no chance of it ever coming to an end.
@spiralhalo4 ай бұрын
The Katana Zero case bothered me a bit for a while. I thought chronos can't possibly actually enable time loop, despite the game's lore telling you so. Instead, I assumed it's "merely" precognition, and this precognition isn't instant. And since the user is definitely dead at some point it should mean there is a finite limit which is calculable. But what finite limit though? A few months of repeated death? A couple years maybe? Well, actually calculating it in a home PC sounds impossible. So instead I decided to make some arbitrary approximations, taking into account the in-game 1 minute limit of the precognition ability: - if 1 minute precognition takes about *1 nanosecond*: roughly *57,000 years* limit - if precognition is absolutely efficient (1 minute precognition takes *1 planck time*): a whopping *10 ^ 39 years* limit So my conclusion is that unless it's actual time travel, the time experienced as the result of chronos withdrawal isn't unlimited but long enough to be considered eternity as a hyperbole. And I'd say there is a chance that the absolutely safe capsule is still worse considering this time is experienced in their head vs actual physical experience of eternity (though I'd say Dr. Adonuts is overly confident and the capsule can still eventually break, but that's a problem for another day).

I never really bought it to be honest. Nothing can live forever without some sort of sustenance, and given he hid away early gives me the impression that he's largely bluffing and that he really _can_ be killed, just not naturally. I feel it would've benefitted with some sort of explanation of how it's possible rather than just Andonuts (and Itoi) saying it is. Like, at least say there's cell generation going on? The horrific part is that Pokey/Porky got _exactly_ what he wanted. If he'd ended up winning, things would've ended the same way. When the needles are pulled, the Dark Dragon destroys the entire world surrounding it, then creates a new one based on the heart of the person who pulled the most Needles - but the Masked Man has no heart, meaning no world would come to replace the Nowhere Islands if Porky had succeeded. No matter what the fate, it all ends the same for him: Alone, for all eternity, floating in darkness with no hope for it to ever end. Just one infinitely-old man in a dark void... Really, the only difference is that the Absolutely Safe Capsule _might_ have some source of water/food/heat/air inside, or at least some other method of staving off thirst/hunger/cold/asphyxiation as part of its intent to protect whatever's inside. Without the capsule, it could've ended up much, much worse for him.

The absolutely safe capsule is absolutely safe against all psi attacks, so it makes sense for it to be immune to teleportation as well.
