What I didn't understood is if we can use those dot card for a taste of painting, or are they good only to show the colors?
@PaperWandStudio

There’s enough paint to do a very small painting - but mostly it’s for testing out the colors to see if you like them.

I absolutely LOVED this video and I subscribed to your channel because of it. Could you please post some more on meditative watercolours? Before watching it, I tried doing some on my own but my colours screamed at each other and it gave me no satisfaction and I ended up throwing it away. Why your video was helpful was because you snuck in a little bit of theory like using analogous colours that always look pleasing near each other and using light and dark values to give depth and contrast. I have heard of these skills but I don't know them well enough to remember them while painting. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for your clever teaching style and I look forward to more of the same when you have the time. 🌸💗🌸

I usually burnout from working on one thing for a long time, and tunnel vision sets in. Like the first tip, I take breaks on my current project, go for a walk to step away from it for a bit. Or sometimes if I still want to do something else crafty, I also like to crochet and sew, which are very different mediums from drawing and painting. Just making sure that I am not overly fixated on one thing helps a lot :) I would love to be enrolled in your floral course! 💐🤍

Thank you! These suggestions are all so good. The one that helps me the most, when I’m feeling burned out and lost or overwhelmed, is to take baby steps. Action is key, otherwise everything is in my head and being over thought!

Normally I take a break (the first tip). Then when I feel good to return I take baby steps to start again. But it's not easy 😢

Recently we set up a desk dedicated to watercolor painting. It's helped me to have a special place in front of a window to see creation and always set up when I have free time to create. Working to release perfection tendencies too.😉

Your tips are a good reminder on how to get to the other side of burnout (or self-doubt, or lack of time, or frustrations)... taking a break isn't the issue but giving grace and start with baby steps is my mantra for moving forward. Plus I like how you used the resistive ink to create the words in the Thank you painting.

Youʻre back! ❤❤❤ My outlet is walking/hiking. Hubby and I retired early, moved from CA to UT. We now spend most of our time traveling to see our kids and grandkids. He took up building model airplanes and I started watercolor painting. We bought matching Husky desks so we can work on our hobbies side by side. Welcome back!

Taking a break, especially from social media, helps my creative burnout. I also like to get outside for a walk or sitting down to read a book (one that I don't have to think as I read).

When I feel burned out, I do different creative things for a while. Once I have been doing something else for a while, I start to get ideas for art and want to try them out.

When I get what I call the “creative blues”, I make myself not to do anything classically creative for at least a week and instead will read, or cook, or do some other type of hobby. It seems to flip a switch on how I look at things sometimes and ideas start popping. Love your artwork. Congrats on the 10k!

My way to get the creative bubbles floating again is to go outside. Practice mindfulness to look at my surroundings, taking everything in and really look at it. Meditating with my back hugging a tree, smell some flowers or a piece of wood. Feel how the grass tickles your fingers. Just get all your ( other ) senses to wake up and tingle. Nature can do that if you allow it 😊

Too many things happened n the autumn and I just haven’t been able to get back in the swing of things. I often to go to my creative space and I draw a blank! It's good to see you again! It's not easy when life intervenes... That is very familiar to me. Shortly after I suffered pulmonary embolisms, I became infected with the corona virus. Despite being careful, I have been infected three times and now have long covid. My energy level and concentration have dropped to a very low point, which means that I have often not been able to be creative. I have noticed that all the points you mention can help you feel a little better. I haven't recovered yet, but I have started using watercolor again. It goes up and down, but when it gets better, I really enjoy it. I still have a lot to learn about watercolor, but it makes me happy! 🌷🌼🌸
