It has slowly turned into a mess 😅, but the chest outside that's not inline with the other chests seems to have travel/mining supplies with extra tools and food I never eat, and stuff I find in the mines, as well as junk from fishing to recycle. Apparently I forgot (I really need to remember when I play again) I have seeds, fertilizer, etc, and stuff for planting/growing crops/trees in (green) chest 4th from door. Whilst the chest closest to the stairs coming from the porch is for harvested, processed animal products. It looks like I have miscellaneous flowers, mushrooms, and crops, most likely from summer in 2nd chest (Red/orange?). I keep artifacts (museum donations) and mined (but scarce) minerals inside 2nd from door (brown chest). Other stuff from mines (abundant) resources, coal, stuff to make bars/upgrade tools, rocks and also wood/stuff to build with, in (red) chest 3rd from door. One of the blue (I think dark blue 5th from door) has fish, and light blue (1st from door) should have coral, clams, etc (ocean/beach forage). Also my fridge I keep vegetables and fruits for jam/jelly making, and try to keep only ingredients for making food at kitchen. Green (outside) chest 3rd left from porch, should have spring crops/forage. Far left from porch should have winter forage/crops, but either the winter or spring chest probably has foraged autumn/fall wild crops. Also I have a chest for bait by my pond filled with crab traps or whatever they're called.
