Duran Duran have been around for 40 years. At this point, they should consider following a cue from Bands like The Cure & Echo Bunnymen and perform some showcase shows of entire albums, I guarantee nothing would sell out faster than a live performance of So Red The Rose…

I absolutely love, My Antarctica and Proposition I have always wondered why they never play it. Violence of Summer is such a fantastic track, it would be amazing live. I would add, Too Late Marlene, Do you believe in Shame, A matter of feeling and Michael you've got a lot to answer for. I have always wished they'd do a none hits tour.

With you there on Proposition, so catchy & has all the classic DD hooks in it, no idea why it was never a single - saw them play American Science in December 1987 in Birmingham

So cool. You then witnessed one of the last time's they played "AS". The following month (Jan 1988) in Brazil was their final performance to date!

Easy explanation: My Antarctica is not a song to play live, same as Falling Down, people get bored American Science needs more brass than the sax they have on live gigs Proposition is one of their top 10 songs but can’t be played live because Roger is not able to get that groove that makes the song, although he is a great drummer. Steve Ferone did a wonderful job on that album Violence of Summer is a simple song, I can image that they don’t like to play that song live What I like to hear live is “Beautiful Colours” and “Virus”
@erikbedard713Ай бұрын
Great post! "Beautiful Colours" is a really terrific track. Wish it would have made the Astronaut record!
@YTDS69Ай бұрын
@@erikbedard713 Beautiful Colours is written for the album Reportage which sadly didn’t make it because of arguments and that Andy left. My wish is that they get their back together and finish the 2006 Reportage album WITH Andy.

She did Angel on the Celebration tour...a snippet. FINALLY. She thought people wouldn't remember it-- she was wrong. Lol @Jimmy Hoffa. Rescue Me.. she knows she cannot deliver the same vocals as decades ago. Secret Garden Supernatural (not a hit, but fan fave, b side to Cherish) Revenge Crimes of Passion Don't You Know? Yes my choices are obscure. Til Death Do Us Part would be a great pick.. but a lot of bad memories associated with it. Pretender has cool lyrics.... Look of Love, Gambler, Waiting, I'll Remember, Ring My Bell... There are too many.

I know the question was more about what songs have they never played that I would like them to play. But I’m going to go a different direction if that’s OK. Because I want to relate something that happened to me that was incredible… Had I been asked before May 14, 2017 what songs I sooo wanted to hear them play live, I would have said.. Running to Stand Still Ultraviolet Sort of Homecoming Bad One Tree Hill At that point in time, I had seen them 7 times in 3 countries and never heard them play any of those songs. Then on May 14, 2017 right here in my backyard of Seattle, they played *ALL* of them. I knew they were going to play the songs from JT. But the others were totally by chance. As someone who has been a huge fan of these guys from the second I heard Bad on the radio in 1984, I can’t even begin to describe how stoked I was by that setlist. Then just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, Eddie Vedder and Mumford & Sons came out and performed Mothers of the Disappeared with Adam, Larry, Edge, and Bono. Its probably the closest I’ll ever feel to winning the lottery.

though they rehearsed the full version of drowning man just before their first 2009 touropener in Barcelona (kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIOaqol-mNRnq5o&ab_channel=TheU2BlueRoom), My top 5 picks would be: when I look at the world (with an extended big guitar solo), like a song (played only once), Boomerang v2, No line on the Horizon v2 and lady with the spinning head (long version)
