its actually fun watching fillers. but what i really wanted to watch but doesnt exist is the timeskip developing bulma and vegeta's relationship. honestly disappointing

Kai is for weebs who call the character building "filler" bc they have no attention span. The Kai replacement voices were dumb too. The falconer music and the American feature movie soundtracks were killer. Deftones, disturbed, and drowning pool was peak but weebs prefer Coolers Revenge with pan flutes n saxophones. Lame af. In my opinion Z is better. But Kai has potential just take out the new Bulma voice actress, Goten’s lispsy girl voice, Luffy Kid Gohan and kid Goku voice actress, actually animate the show as clean as the opening without the faded colors, and of course bring back the filler I don’t care how many clowns hate the filler Akira Toriyama said that everything is canon in different timelines the show is supposed to be all about adventure so shut up manga purists it’s not my problem if anyone disagrees😎💯

Your criticism of DBZ's animation stems from Funimation's shitty upscalings, not DBZ's animation. DBZ has better animation than Kai.

I remember in 6th grade people kept saying DBZ Kai sucked, and that you should watch the OG DBZ instead. Me who read a good chunk of the manga of DBZ found some changes in both Kai and the OG animes to be a little strange. For example, in Kai I found it strange that they removed the part where Raditz smacked Gohan which was present in the manga, and for the OG, when it showed Gohan getting lost in the woods in the 1st episode which was not present in the manga. I really don't like filler. Sounds like for sale of time, Kai is the way to go, no disrespect towards the OG mind you

It seems like the divide is younger peeps prefer Kai, older prefer Z. It's not that black and white of course, but generally so. Personally, I think Z is better hands down. The soundtrack is better, the pacing is better (it's not 'filler', it's the friggin' story - don't be so damn lazy), and the animation/art style is better. Yes, the animation is better. Just because Kai's animation is more polished and clean does not make it better. It makes the art look like it was computer-assisted and almost sterile in nature. All of those fuzzy lines and rough textures of Z are precisely what humanizes it and makes it shine. Kai art just feels soulless by comparison.

I preffer Kai, except for the Saiyan Arc which is the First Arc. The filler scenes helped a lot in there; has the vibes of the Original Dragon Ball slowly turning into Z.

Give me Kai writing and voiceovers with the Bruce Faulconer soundtrack and the DBZ extra gore and grittiness.

Kai eliminates Z in ever category outside of music. Except the final chapters, music in that was great. Z just does not have the best dialogue. Kai feels like how actual people would talk.

Gokus voice when he was little is gohuns voice in the original DBZ the bruce faulconer music is way better it makes the Different scenes more intense yes dragon ball z on Tunami way better.

Honestly wished I had the fusion of the 2, the good filler episodes and the z music, fused into Kai animation, With some of the good lines z had to offer for intense moments.

Filler arcs are also character builders.... dbz gives you over 100 more episodes and ya complaining . Lmao. Thats crazy. I grew up on Z. I remember coming home from school excited to see a fight FINALLY, only to get more talking. Now that I'm a father, I want to torture my kids, and make them experience the same frustration. So I bought the Z DVD series lol

i think kai is better overall, the animation is superior, pacing is better (there are like 20 entire episodes of ppl screaming in z), the onlything z has over kai is the saiyan saga filler but thats it

Dbz kai has some great moments too it has the best voice actors the best animation yet Its just perfect The only thing dbz had was a bunch of brutal scenes and weak voice acting and yeah some not bad dialog and that's it Kai is still my fav even tough some of the techniques names are stupidly aged

I grew up with the original Dragon Ball Z but to be honest I prefer Dragon Ball Kai especially on home media and streaming. It is much better for me to rewatch with awesome dubbed dialogue, animation and cut unnecessary stupid boring long filler episodes. Plus the series is a little more faithful to the manga counterpart. In Kai there also a lot more swearing which I like and fit my favorite character Vegeta personality😂 lol.... The editing in some of the episodes in DBZ Kai fits perfectly.

It’s such a hard question. We will never get the perfect DBZ series. The music of Kai is kinda a buzz kill… Kai looks the best… but the fact that you can’t watch the og funimation run in the original 4:3.. they are cropped and colors blown out on all streaming services… and you watch the O.G. And you hate the pacing.. then it watch Kai.. and it’s too fast and you miss the pacing and filler… idk it’s hard. I think Kai wins for the looks.
