The made sockets with a reverse fluting to take off rounded bolt heads. They come in many sizes. and woud grab that bolt. Also you need to invest in some shop lights.

I misspeak in the video and call the exhaust studs bolts. I got the bolts off in the previous video but now the studs are firmly stuck. I'm taking the cylinder heads off further down the line and I'm gonna try the 2 nut method to get them off. Agreed on the shop lights. My last set bit the dust but after Christmas I will be investing in some. Thanks for watching.

@@AllBikesGreatAndSmall these are shallow ones they grab rounded bolt heads, screws and studs as long as they loosen counter clockwise.

Its a simple elbow grease job, no magic formula's lol! The system is stainless steel and it will polish up very well with autosol or similar metal polish ;)

I have an R1150RT too, enjoying the vids, keep going, they are a good bike :) Changing the quick release fuel lines for new ones is on my to-do list. Its quite common for them to fail like that after 20+ yrs service (Y)

it will come off, if you get all the bolts 🙂

That's the trick. Patience, penetrating oil and torqx bits are my friend!

@@AllBikesGreatAndSmall You can try kroil penetrating oil good stuff but a bit spendy.

I had a look and I think I'm going to get some for when I come to get the exhaust off. The exhaust studs are a real mess and Kroil could make the job a lot easier. Thanks for the heads up.

I think to remove air box you need to remove upper rear frame

You may want to look into oetiker fuel line clamps, they take up a lot less room than screw clamps. I used fuel injection screw clamps when i replaced my quick connectors and when done it seemed like there was not enough room and screws where poking in the lines, was afraid of screws chaffing holes.
@AllBikesGreatAndSmall3 ай бұрын
Yeah you're right. I'm taking the fuel tank off again to strip the whole bike down. Will be servicing the fuel filter and will replace the screw clamps with the Oetiker ones then.

did you use fuel injector grade hose for exterior fuel lines
@AllBikesGreatAndSmall3 ай бұрын
Yes, I double checked it was the right stuff.

Also,take the itb runners iff and spray any flammable spray,if it fires up then your problem is fuel,if it doesn't,its probably ignition.
