This was the dumbest story on KZbin. I'm glad I didn't waste my time watching the whole thing.

Not a bad story 👍

If it’s the fkn future, it’s wouldn’t refer to every damn thing as “advanced”. Also, think of something “advanced” that isn’t “quantum”!!!! It’s as bad as Admiral Chen and cptn Martinez popping up everywhere
@GunnersRange8 күн бұрын
Is this about ALL humanity or only Asian humanity? Nary a Smith or Jones anywhere in the story; although Dr. Sarah Chen was notably absent, as well..... ; )

Good job on proofing the AI reading this time. I didn't hear it mispronounce anything one this one. That's been an issue with these. And recycling names. Also, to all those dissing the plot....you should look up how many total plot lines have been created in all human history. About 32 or somewhere in there. So ya, listen to enough of these and the only difference will be details and names. .. In general I enjoy these, it does make it hard to get into them though with AI mispronunciations or scientific errors like (hid on dark Side of moon) or (hid in astroid belt).

Shure is a lot of "quantum" in this story ! Sadly no quantum coffee or cereal tho... what a missed opportunity.

Odd earth didn’t have at least one moon base with a hidden military base or asteroid miners hiding even more bases posing as simple processing plants

Well they did but the quantum field wouldn’t let the quantum shields fully activate because the quantum toilets were clogged lol

So the omnipresent Sara Chen has been replaced by Yi Sun-sin. It's about time! Koreans are a more believable future Technological power. I know this because I taught at 한국과학기술대학교. True, the culture is basically Confucian [유도] but far more interested in scientific and technological development and democracy. I saw the development at first hand, having taught there at intervals from 1972 to 1990. The miracle on the Han River was real. To all of my many Korean students over the years, remember your past [the good and the bad]. Strive for the best in the present and for the future! 대한민국만세!!!

Right, and no AI mess ups. I was begging for a different name, and even started wondering if we were following Sara Chen through thr multiverse lol

I'm old enough to have enjoyed reading E.E. "Doc" Smith's Skylark version of the "Perils of Pauline." Instead of "everything as impossible," it was everything, however implausible as possible, with tons of "Deus ex Machina" and lots of pseudoscientific word salad. As the French say, "Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose." [This may not be colloquial French.]
@beccabbea25119 күн бұрын
@@JMM33RanMA I loved reading EE Doc Smith as well. I've still got quite a lot of his books both in hard format and on my kindle. I think of them as "good old fashioned science fiction, real up and at them space opera." Yes I do still occasionally read them. And, let's face it, there's not a Sarah Chen, Rodriguez, Martinez or Zix/Zacs in sight. Now that has got to be a bonus 😂😂😂😂
@beccabbea25119 күн бұрын
@@JMM33RanMAI did send an innocuous comment in reply to your comment about those books, unfortunately, it was deleted! Heavens knows why. Maybe I should not have mentioned the format I have some of them in. I will say I loved his books, still have several and not a Chen insight. Ah! Good old fashioned space opera.

@@beccabbea2511 I read the whole Skylark series and enjoyed it. I did not always find series, even the "Perils of Pauline" type, off-putting. However tastes and understandings change over time. I'm in my seventies and far more travelled, educated and sophisticated. I have tried to reread some old favorites and found them...lacking. I see bad science, plot holes, internal contradictions, etc. that I didn't notice before. Another problem is that I've taught literature and have even written some short pieces [only used in class, not published]. This means that I have become more critical and less able to suspend disbelief. This makes being a fan of AI SciFi virtually impossible.

That's true. This aspect of SciFi hasn't changed since the 1950s. The upside is that it might inspire young SciFi consumers to try to achieve it. As for the rest, I am what I am, socially and politically, because I was mightily influenced by the original Star Trek, as cheesy and low budget as that now seems. Mr. Spock was my model, after all, not cheap politicians and sleazy pastors/grifters.
