Alan Saffron died in 2020 aged 71. He was the son of nefarious Abe Saffron. Abraham Gilbert Saffron (6 October 1919 - 15 September 2006) was an Australian hotelier, nightclub owner, and property developer who was one of the major figures in organised crime in Australia in the latter half of the 20th century. In November 2006, Saffron's son Alan would receive only $500,000 from his father's multimillion-dollar estate; the article quoted various estimates of the value of the estate that ranged from A$30 million to as much as $140 million. Saffron's eight grandchildren (including Alan Saffron's five children) would receive $1 million each, Saffron's mistress Teresa Tkaczyk would receive a lifetime annuity of $1000 a week and the couple's apartments in Surry Hills, Elizabeth Bay and the Gold Coast and that Melissa Hagenfelds (Saffron's daughter by his former mistress Rita Hagenfelds) would also receive a $1,000 a week annuity and apartments at Centennial Park and Elizabeth Bay. Other reported provisions of the will included bequests of up to $10 million to various charities.

It spins me out how completely contrived these shows are. Obviously, it is a very successful format, but it is so glaringly conspicuous that every show follows the same 'game plan'. Sob story, enter the white jacketed knight errant in Mr Ramsay, the ritual humiliation of the owners and staff, and the final denouement with the restaurant getting a free make-over courtesy of Gordon Ramsay (overnight? I don't think so), and Gordo's final pep talk, before riding off into the sunset! Who was that thar white jacketed hero pardner? LOL!!

It kinda annoys me how an unchangeable owner when gordon leaves, either closes their restaurant, or only accepts change after noticing money and good reviews coming in. Shelly is deep inside a great person i'm sure, but i would have loved having her change before actually having benefit out of the restaurant.

Its always racism when brown people don't observe the necessary standards and break rules. And that's exactly how certain cultures stay behind other cultures. the inability to be honest about themselves and self=correct.
