Oh my goodness did you here Ben C. He told Hoss to get Adam all bandage up and put him to bed?? Ben talks to his Boys like they are toddlers and they are all into there mid to late 30's . Adam should of had a wife that was putting him to bed.

Although The Marshall had a big chip on his shoulder because Walker pushed his wife in his line of fire and trusted nobody He seemed to know. Adam could be trusted giving him his badge to take Walker to LA to stand trial after being badly wounded Sounds like the Marshall wasn't a bad guy after all the tragedy of his wife made him snap

Notice Hop Sing’s accent when he is talking with his Chinese friends? Speaks excellent, American accented English. I think the idea is that Hop Sing and his friends were all speaking Chinese. I wonder if the director considered filming the scene in Chinese language with English subtitles? Was subtitling not done on TV in those days?

I don't think that type of subtitling was done so much when this episode was made (1960). Interesting idea, though.

Interesting thing about this episode how things turned around. The Marshall wasn't a bad guy and Dave Walker turned out to be the culprit after all.

Loved the part in this episode where Little Joe kisses the two girls and Hoss pulls him away when he tries to go back for more. One of the best scenes from Dan Blocker and Michael Landon in the series history. May they both rest in peace.

He had turned into a bad guy (at least in this particular criminal case) because of what had happened to his wife. But like he said at the ending, Adam helped him to see the errors of his abusive ways.

ThisEpisode was a first time to see the sensitive bond between Ben and Joe. I remember feeling so emotional about the scene at the grave that I cried. They were so good at the father son scene that is I think I remembered that they were very good friends in real life too. The episode was a Little Joe steals the show one.

For the answer to that, first search KZbin for "Kelly Thomas", watch that, then search "deaf wood carver" RIP John Willams, then come back here and read what I'm about to post next, ,, ,,, Because he is a cop. They like killing, beating, molesting and raping good people. All police are corrupt sadistic perverts.

So was he a murderer or not? Why was the Marshall wanting to shoot David the first time when David put the Marshall's wife in the line of fire?

He tells about it at 35:10. He said he was trying to get Dave to to LA to stand trial for the murder of a paymaster, but Dave escaped by throwing the marshal's wife 'Cora' in the line of fire.

Out of 430 episodes of Bonanza, I haven't seen them all. This episode was on TV last night and I had never seen it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The actor who played the role of Jeb Drummond did an excellent job. I've always said any actor who can make you hate them, has played their role well. As usual on Bonanza, justice prevails and Jeb Drummond got what he had coming. Lorne Greene played his role with excellence as usual. Doesn't he always? Thanks for posting this.

This is such a good episode! And I love the fact for the fight scene in the barn, PR did all of his own fighting for that entire scene! He did such a good job! But then again in season 1 the actors were allowed to do a lot more of their stunt works then in later seasons!
