Egar Ford is the dealer that Equibank bought their new Ford vans for their messengers to take inner office mail and supplies to all the branch offices. The drivers last runs of the day they picked up all the proof work for the day and took it to 2 Oliver Plaza in downtown Pittsburgh. The vans were kept maintained, gassed at Paul Roberts Mobil station on the main street in Liberty Borough.

The steel industry probably brings out the most heated carloadings. It is truly amazing how long a slab can hold Heat but when they load taconite pellets in upper Michigan and Minnesota they leave a real trail of steam. When the coke plant was running at Fast Pace in Milwaukee some of the quenched Coke in outbound hoppers would continue to steam for a few hours. Likewise when they were busy and loading directly from the shredder into gondolas you can see small pockets of steam Rising well into the evening. Next thing you know Donna Summer Will Come Dancing along with that disco hit

That car horn seems a pathetic honk for that car. U.S. car horn sounds used to be standardized--combined E Flat and G notes. Now it's a puny squeak. Out-of-staters might not understand that a state store in Pennsylvania sold distilled spirits (hard liquor). There used to be a cafeteria on the top floor of the G.C. Murphy building--a huge room (since there were no floors above that had to be held up by supporting walls). The cafeteria arrangement was very efficient at serving an equally huge number of diners. G.C. Murphy was a very successful store which had the money to sponsor a race car in the 1965 Indianapolis 500. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, too.

Before the steel mills there was oil in McKeesport. Down by the river were oil rigs everywhere. Alot of people don't know that

Always good to see stuff moving on the main line that way you know people are still buying stuff. At one time we had hundreds of cars with that MET emblem loading ethanol in the Midwest but they are gradually being removed or painted over.

Coke train, being from Mckeesport playing on the tracks as a kid, coke and railroad are in the blood.Ican almost smell the hot coke. No railroad here! I hope the change of administration Will bring Mckeesport back to the safe prosperous town it used to be.

Downtown McKeesport is an embarrassment to the city and its people. This is what mismanagement looks like a dead downtown with empty buildings that all need to be torn down.

I remember the McDonalds and the Equibank Drive thru at Midtown Plaza. So sad seeing this city in this condition. My coworkers at Equibank lived on Huey Street, Patterson Ave, Jefferson Street and Idaho Street.
