Another jewel is the Villa D'Este at Cap Ferrat who was the private property of the President of the French Hotel Association. Now also a deluxe Hotel. The only property in Cap Ferrat who has its own real private beach! His son, lived most of his life in Japan and who is a quite well known painter. But still he has an underlying cheap and conning personality nasty with friends like we used to be. We organized his exhibition in Hong Kong and saved his ass when the organizer a Society lady committed suicide the same day. And saved all his assets from being blocked at the China Club and moved them to Yuen Long to a private Atelier. He never paid a penny for any of it. OK for then later on he visited my home in South Africa and stayed several month to be inspired locally with the promise to make me his agent. I must admit I liked his Art. But he never lived up to his promise again and picked some lady from the French Embassy instead. You see people with loads of money and connections never are really worth any true trust. I won't name him here. But if you Mr M. ever read this you know who you are.

What not many know is that the parc of the hotel is accessible to the public a the wishes of the initial owner. It has one of the most amazing rose garden on the French Riviera , if not in the whole of Europe.
