I played that organ in the spring of '74. Magnificent instrument, described by M. Pierre Grandmaison. It was fascinating to hear how parts of the pipework came from France and elsewhere. It was a thrilling experience for sure!

Crap. It was built in 1824 to 1829 and is a poor copy of the original in Paris. It is a mish-mash of Gothic and baroque elements and whatever else they could throw in.

It wasn't built in 1672!!!! That church is long gone. Notre-Dame today is a monstrous expression of 19th & 20th century appalling bad taste sold at over-priced tickets to foolish tourists. Nothing whatsoever sacred about it.

Completed in 1843 not 1672.

The original church was 1672 this one was 1843...my ancestor gave the land for the original church. Gaultier de Varennes. and Pierre Boucher

In the 1960-1970's my parents would take us to mass there. I still remember the sound my sunday best shoes made on the magnificent floor walking up the aisle to our pew. 🙏

Thanks for this video. What year, month and time of day were you on Lake Louise drive? I was expecting it to be very congested.
@catchingsunsets2 ай бұрын
This was in August of 2022. And time was in the morning around 10am. Lake Louise itself was quite busy when we reached there around noon. The lake itself seen in the video was shot around 5pm in the evening that day.

Wow... I never knew that there was any structure this grand in the Western hemisphere. Absolutely beautiful.

It is very beautiful, the feeling while in there was truly amazing. And this is the main hall which is open for visits and photography. They have another hall at the back which is for prayers only and no photography allowed. That hall was just out of this world in its beauty.
