I sometimes feel guilty and overly self conscious when I use cannabis. I was a daily user for about 15 years. I recently quit daily use but when I do use it I can’t escape the feelings of guilt. What is going on?

Without Jesus Christ I wouldn’t be sober I’ve been doing drugs and alcohol since I was 14 now 25. I accepted Christ as my lord and savior been sober ever since.like a country song says”I’ve seen hell in an empty bottle,I’ve seen nights that never seem to end”.

The addiction is to be avoided I find by not pumping it up to be difficult when it is easier to not accept that thought when it arrives. The lowest vibratory state is never being celibate every day, this is what alcohol brings, an inability to abstain at all.

I hear a lot of the points regarding alcohol dimming the spiritual fulfilment. However, Alcohol in SOME cultures as as a medium between the living and the spiritual world. I am an AKAN, a tribe from Ghana West Africa, I am from a royal family in the Ashanti Kingdom, I have family who are kings (chiefs) and queen mothers, and typically Schnapps and libation is poured which actually awaken the spirits/gods or ancestors. I know most religions particularly Christianity may find these acts to be of darkness, but the truth is it’s part of our culture and it works. Alcohol is usually poured on to the ground to honour ancestors, before a consultation with a priest, chiefs and queens are offered a ‘tot’ of Schnapps to awaken their spirit rather, so although your analogy is correct, just so you know it’s not all to diminish our senses and take away the connection to the soul, but to connect one to matters of the spirit. Now if drank in excess.. I see how this can effect the soul. Alcohol is a spiritual tool and should be used wisely.

How does one do this in every day life? A job, family, military service,taxes, children etc etc. sounds like you have to give all that up and live off the land
