My son was over 4 years old before he could speak one word. He was very delayed in reading, writing, speaking, all language skills. He knew what photosynthesis was. I knew, he knew he knew, and his teachers knew he knew. Information did not go in, or come out, the way public school teaches. (I was lucky the teachers he had when he was young also picked up on this.) I pulled him out, and homeschooled him. He is 35 now and is an aerospace engineer.
