Brilliant workmanship Tim you should sell the template. I would definitely buy one

Drilling all those holes in the van's metal floor is a terrible idea: gluing only would achieve the same goal.

Hello! Thanks for sharing this video, it’s really helpful as we have an identical van and didn’t know where to start with the flooring as it has so many different ribs. What size pieces of wood have you used here for the studs?

Hi Tim, I contacted Renault and they said they recommended not to replace the front seat due to the airbags? Did you do any research into the safety requirements?
@timnolan-dacre85792 жыл бұрын
Hi Laura, By reducing it to 1 seat doesn't affect the air bags as it would be the same as 1 person sitting on the bench seat, the air bags are in the dashboard not the seat itself.

@timnolan-dacre85793 жыл бұрын
No I had to make it, it took a few attempts as it's a really awkward shape. I made several smaller ones out of thin scrap ply for each section and taped them together before making the full size one.

Hi Steve, yes it's the taller of the roof heights and made of plastic, I fitted a Maxxair skymaxx to the rear, it fits a 40cm x 40cm opening and to the front I fitted the Maxxair maxxfan, I'll put links to them below. www.rainbow-conversions.co.uk/rooflights-vents/maxxair-skymaxx-rooflight-vent-400-x-400mm.html www.rainbow-conversions.co.uk/rooflights-vents/maxxair-maxxfan-deluxe-roof-vent-fan-with-remote-control-353-x-353mm.html

Tim, I have, ‘I thought’ an identical van, master on a 66 plate. But mine does not have the step cut out like your van has at the side sliding door! Did you cut this out, or was it like this when you bought it?
@timnolan-dacre85793 жыл бұрын
It was like that, Is your van a FWD or RWD? Mine is a RWD, I'm not 100% sure but I think the RWD vans have a higher floor to accommodate the prop shaft.

Hi TIm, I have the short whee base model with the high roof. What was the tape you were using for between the ridges. Did you eventually silicone/bond over that tape. Thanks
@timnolan-dacre85793 жыл бұрын
Its a mastic sealing strip, use it to fill the gaps then a strip all the way round on the top so that the skylight has something to bed into, the camera battery ran out before I finished, once the skylight was in place I trimmed any exces mastic tape then went round the whole edge with sikaflex. Because the ridges are so deep I went through a roll and a half on each skylight. Hope this helps. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351565459521

We've covered ours in 4 way stretch carpet, I've uploaded the video this morning. Because of the shape of the Master we decided to put the vapour barrier in front of the plywood rather than behind because there was no way we could have fitted the plywood without ripping the foil bubblewrap, (far too much of a curve).

When I cut out the floor covering for the fourth bolt hole there was a domed shaped bolt already in it that would need a special tool to remove it, I filed 2 edges of it sothelat I could get a spanner/wrench on to it, I tried to show it in the video but the camera wouldn't focus on it properly for some reason. Thanks alot for your video! Did you do anything about the belt tensioner of the now missing middle seat? I am currently trying to find information how to replace the twin seat with a single one and wondering if there is any other work to do. E.g. installing a resistance, or if it possible to program the seat configuration in the control unit?
@timnolan-dacre85793 жыл бұрын
Is it a Renault Master you have? The tensioner for the middle seat is enclosed within the bench seat so I didn't have to do anything to it, also there were no electrical connection so I didn't have to adjust anything with that either.
