Hate to nitpick anachronism, but the fridge in the farm house is from about 1920's era. More year specific, 1927 and ran on electricity. While still western style horror, I'd peg more towards 'Wierd Wild West'. Where things are familiar but not quite the same. Leaves a lot of wiggle room for other fantasy additions.

If that’s the thing you payed attention to, you probably want to reevaluate your life bud. Last I checked there aren’t wendigos snatching kids from barns in the 1800s either. Maybe eat a snickers bar and cool off.

Hey there! Thanks for watching! In this film our special effects person used pantyhose stuffed with various scraps of fabric (most likely other pantyhose) and soaked in fake blood. There are several fake blood recipes you can use but you can never go wrong with the store bought stuff. It’s surprisingly convincing especially on camera.

All nice, but I think there was a little glitch: the tin cups used by the father and the son to drink in their cabin seem to have a sticker on the bottom. 🤔

First saw The Wendigo on the old TV B&W show, Great Ghost Tales back in the late /50s-early '60s. Other than it scared the crap out of this kid, all I remember is a group of men around a campfire as one tells of his encounter with the Wendigo.

The acting is a little wooden at the start with the mother howling in anguish whilst the father looks like he's just been told his favourite shovel is missing and not his first born.

Hes similiar to the draugr of norce myth... could be that near-death exprience (like starvation) force an insmouth's fish-folk like-transformation, in "caterpilar in cocoon (=tomb, womb) like faze (more they eat, the more grow ,never full"? Same thing about opir, preta...

Great effort, just need to add more cowbell, alien contact and some softcore erotica. I kid of course. I was very impressed with the story. My only question is, the stranger at the end, was he telling the truth about being friends with his father?

There’s no way of knowing if the stranger was being truthful, but someone who was an “old friend” to someone else might consider a giving them a proper burial.

Constructive criticism: No smoke from any chimney in the town in mid-winter. Price label on the underside of the Dads coffee mug. Clean clothes. People just sitting outside doing nothing in mid-winter. Firearms were new. Modern red twine on the Dads cross. All would have been a easy fix.

This was way better than the one shorter movie I watched earlier that was half as long and had no coherent story line and made no sense in the end. This had drama, an emotional hook with the boy being kidnapped, solid acting, and that Wendigo was *scary* when the big reveal came. The booming footsteps, elk noises, and suspense added a lot to it, and I liked how it was a humanoid wearing a deer (elk?) skull as opposed to just a deer skull--it added an extra element of horror to the creature to see it with an actual human like face. Well done, y'all!

Fun fact: the wendigo monster was over 10ft tall in real life, the actor was on a pair of special stilts that bend like animal legs. We appreciate your comment, have a great day!

So how come that bad guy was able to sneak up on James and punch him? Where was Mick?? Why wasn't he watching James' six?

Good question! Actually Mick gets shot and severely wounded in a deleted scene, and then comes back at the end of the movie with a missing leg, to tell James he’s gotta take the money and run. I think we cut the scene because it just seemed out of place. We learned a lot about storytelling from this experience though and have come a long way! We hope to make something again very soon.
