Had a gas man out to do a gas safety check, boiler wouldn't come on at all, just showed L2 after he left. Spent 30 mins trying to work it out before finding this video. The reset you did in the first 10 seconds fixed everything! Thanks for the great video.

Just happened to mine too. Vaillant came out and repaired it for free. Must be a bad batch of ignition leads. For me the spark was externally discharging onto the fan cover. The engineer located it within seconds of turning up at the property.

Is it normal for the left side of the condesate trap to be three quaters full when the heqting is on? It overflowed yesterday but it looks really clear as somone did what youve done in this video about 6 weeks ago.

Most pcbs faults are down to dry joints caused slack connections on the plug connectors or oxidation of the pins .its worth while just cleaning the contact or pins with a small nail file or give the connection block a little squeeze with plyer just to tighten up the connections .

I think so called gas ''engineers'' create the problems they solve. As is the case here. These old boilers are not built by type of brains we now have 'repairing' them.
