Weren't any employees that didn't have alot of years at express.offered to relocate to Fed ex ground. Since they are basically consolidating the two into one.

@@ThatFedexGuyWv oh wasn't sure. I'm only a package handler at ground. But I do know the driver's do get shit on at ground. And in your situation, wasn't sure if you'd take an offer or not. If it would have been brought to the table.

This was set up from the start!!! As a manager I can tell you that FedEx was ALWAYS A UNION BUSTER. They purposely made 5 companies with the knowledge that once they HIT DENSITY, they would combine them. They could not compete with UPS as a whole. Having employees that could not unionize - because of the air side made them think about creating an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR MODEL that would prevent unionization and keep from paying directly for truck maintenance like UPS does. This was thought up DECADES AGO. I worked for UPS management and then FedEx Ground. This model will BACKFIRE!!! It will not last. There are too many layers between FedEx and the IC Drivers. (FedEx adopted this model only due to lawsuits from FedEx Ground Drivers. I was there in 2005 when this mess was going on). This is going to backfire on FedEx. UPS does have to pay high driver pay and truck maintenance but they are more streamlined than FedEx now - even incurring these costs. FedEx Express use to be good and now FDX is damn near GREEDY in not paying Independent Contractor Drivers what they are worth. They have slipped in these owners WHO CARE NOTHING ABOUT EMPLOYEES OR HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS - most who get approved by FedEx get approved by having high CREDIT SCORES that allow them to buy trucks. These people are the middle men that FedEx uses to try to say drivers are Independent Contractors when they are not. Too many inefficiencies will be FDX’s downfall. Better buy stock now and get on the high end of the curve and make some money, but be ready to dump it when FDX implodes. Because it will implode in a HUGE WAY!!!
