We keep getting an error 80 and sometimes error 07 message so the disks won't play, any solutions? Also, do you know if connecting a Yamaha MD8 to an Apple Mac via a Sonic Port VX would work to transfer the music to either CD burn or digital files? Ideally we would like to get the individual tracks into Garage Band but would settle for anything that works. Not tech savvy here, all we want to do is get the music from the MD disks onto a more modern format. We would really appreciate any help that you can provide.

im getting the error 07 every time i try to read the discs :( have you found a way to fix it?

@@cmap769 Hi I took my md8 to a repairer but no luck as they couldn't source the parts. Thankfully though I managed to find a second hand one that can read disks. Not sure if this helps but the report just provided this sentence for both error 80 and 07: "Requires laser and spindle motor or traverse assembly n/a". Sorry I couldn't provide more information but that's all I received from the report. Good luck and take care.

I have a serious issue at the moment. Over 20 years ago I recorded my songs that I wrote on an 8 track minidisc mixer recorder. It's taken me 20 years to finally get it back off a family member. And now I don't have anything to play it on or to try and digitalize it. Is this something you could help with at all? I'm beyond frustrated as I spent money on players and now after googling I've realised that it won't play and I get error because its on a data format 😭

Yep we see you looking for solutions here too (saw your other comments on other videos). Not sure what the issue is exactly based on your comment but we get an error 80 and sometimes error 07 message so the disks won't play. What are you trying to do? In our case we just want to get the songs from the disks onto another format (CD/ digital/ Garageband).
