Umm if any real jet pilot is scrolling through the comments, I want to ask something! Is such vertical take off possible like shown at the very end of the video?
@devibaskaranr34023 жыл бұрын
no chance that is simply impossible even the fighter jet qith most powerful engines like f 22 and su 57 or su 35 needs at least 20 to 30 seconds to gain enough speed to stay in air. so that is just impossible. there one russian aerobatic move called cobra in which a fighter jet would be accelerating in the position like the fell from carrier in this video with it's nose fully in vertical angle. but that move's minimum altitude is 500 metres up and the aircraft should be at the speed of at least 1700km. hence this type of take off that also from an aircraft carrier is just fictional amd not possible

if you got enough thrust and vectoring engines, sure but i dont know of any aircraft that can do that

I ain't no pilot, but it seems impossible to me.

To do a tail stand takeoff like that you need a greater then 1.0 lift to weight ratio. I think there are three frontline fighters that have that including the harrier and euro fighter. To compare, the F-22 rates about 0.6, so it can only lift a little more then half it's weight without using it's wings to actually "fly". The only other problem I can see though is that to generate a lot of that power you need speed to "push" air into the front intake, think that jets use that forward scoop the same way a car uses a supercharger. There is of course the space shuttle that generates about 1.5 L/W ratio, but well.... rockets...
