Amazing Video series you die here!! May I ask you a question regarding the fuselage wood which came with the Kit. Is this Standard 3 layer plywood from poplar/cottonwood or is it a fine multilayer aircraft plywood ? best regards
@gudjonolafsson22 күн бұрын
Most of the plywood was so called light ply. I do not know what wood it was, but it is lighter and softer than, say, Baltic birch plywood.

@@gudjonolafsson thanks for your quick answer. At least it is not the extra strong heavy one. I will find something suitable. I have just the plan and your videos gave me motivation and some live Views of the frame ! Many thanks

Looking good Guai. I finished my Gary Allen Tiger Moth finally. Two flights and two flip overs on landing. I accidently built the landing gear out of dimension, and the weigh bias on the mains was too neutral. Ordered the Toni Clark gear kit and had a second go at the gear. Waiting on a test flight now.

Was your father a carpenter Gudjon, nice looking tool you had there 👍🤔

No, Cliff, he was actually a blacksmith and repaired car bodies for a living. When he was 70 his friends gave him a set of carving irons and he spent his last years happily carving wood as a hobby.

When searching for the 'ideal bits-&-bobs'--like fabrics for items like the cockpit combing, I've resorted to 2nd-hand and thrift stores. Old leather boots, lightweight jackets--even women's suede handbags...have provided me with thin, properly textured leather for the right grade & colour of leather to detail various size models. Your SE5a is enviable....fantastic job!

Lovely build but one small thing i noticed @ 2:51. You have fitted the Vickers machine gun upside down - the barrel should be at the botton and not the top. Good job you used silicone to fix it in place!

Thank you I was told about that the day after I glued it in. Now it won't com out.
