Great video mate. I live in Townsville and use to head up there all the time in my 4wd. Just wanted to let you know that you missed the BEST parts of those tunnels…the waterfalls and the large tubes that run under the track you were on. Spectacular!
@IronbarkMXКүн бұрын
@shaynerolt198 I've since found the flood tubes under the track, not sure where the waterfalls are.

I owned a 2003 525 EXC for almost 20 years and did much the same as you are now experiencing. The garbage dumping situation has been getting worse over my 50 years of experience. I can’t believe anyone could possibly have the gall to do such a thing. It’s very interesting to see Australia from your perspective. Very well done video. Cheers from Washington state USA.

Interesting you say the suspension is soft. Many say it is not, especially with the PDS rear shock. What bike are you comparing the suspension to?

What an awesome video!! Love it. I’m inspired to buy a 500. I just recently purchased a 2024 KTM250XC for my general type of fast and technical singles. It’s a weapon of a bike.. but I’ve been looking for a lightweight adventure bike. Just to head out for a massive day with a few lads .. Have you set up the bike with a Cush drive? It’s worth it if you plan on doing some road kms. There is also a really awesome low auxiliary tank that adds 8L . It means that you leave your standard tank on and keep the weight low
@IronbarkMX7 күн бұрын
@michaelwalas5948 The bike is quite setup now. You can watch my later videos to see what I've done to it. The 8L auxiliary tank is something I love the look of, even with the upgraded 15L tank I have now.

I’ve put 570 hours on my 2021 KTM 500. 10,000 miles. The valves have never been checked. Runs perfect. Just change the oil and replace consumables: tires, brake pads, chain, sprockets, and air filter. This is my second KTM Husky 500. My 2016 FE 501 was similarly robust. Forget the naysayers who never owned one. Step up to the best.

Great video and in depth exploration, My mates and I used to hike across the abandoned railway line and check out the tunnels, at 9:00 we actually did explore down that way and pushing through 1 m high grass and shrubs and it was just way to overgrown, there is only one tunnel back that way it runs directly under the herveys range tearooms we explored it, and the other 4 other times, I did also take my old dirt bike across it starting from the start of the track at yabulu north of Townsville a few years back. Great area I have a lot of fond memories exploring that area
