Thanks! The doors are a Halfords colour, Bermuda Blue, but personally I don't think it's an exact match - could be slightly more turquoise to my eye but hey ho. The grey is just a custom mixed colour, adding white until it looks right and then airbrushed.

No one makes an RTR model of the 700 - this one is built from a kit of 3d printed parts from CMAC model rail, which then needed finishing, sanding, painting, glazing and motorising. I've also added lighting and interiors to them. If you're interested in the process there's a lot more detail shown on my instagram at @sevenoaks_oo.

No, it's built from 3d printed bodyshells, chassis and bogies by CMAC model railways. There's a lot of modelling work and extra parts needed to complete it though.

Thank you. The station is a work in progress - I tend not to place many passengers when work is still in progress for obvious reasons. It's a DCC layout so automatic station stopping is a bit more involved, but it's something I've looked into.

Thanks Kev - the 73 is actually a Hornby model, with some additional detailing added. I love them as they're usually quite cheap to buy and run very well - with a bit of detailing and weathering I think they scrub up well :) Yes the Class 700 is built from bodyshells and underframes by CMAC model railways, using a drivetrain and motor bogies from a Bachmann Turbostar.

Thanks! It's not one of the most reliable runners I have to say. This mod was using power cars at both ends, both with the same DCC address. Lighting is from Express models. In the future I think I will be looking at adding an additional power bogie to the front power car and removing the traction tyres, which hopefully will make the whole thing a bit more stable!

I didn't make a video specifically about the build process in this case I'm afraid, although I can go into a bit of detail about how it was done. The front glass bit is basically 5 separate sections of clear acrylic, which were then attached to a framework of MDF floor plates. The window framing is made by attaching microstrip to the acrylic panels, using a printed template behind to keep everything lined up. I printed out textured backscenes to attach to the back of the panels using spray adhesive, which is what you see when the lights are on! Hope this helps a bit. Thanks again for the kind comments!
