Using a spiral downcut or compression bit would probably also help a lot with preventing the tearout, since it applies cutting pressure at an angle across the grain instead of flat into the ends of the fibers.

Subscribed! Greatly enjoyed your video but I can’t decide if you have a greater passion for woodworking or videography. Both are top notch. I was a machinist for 10 years so I can relate to the “need” for precision. I have this table saw on my wish list so your table design and construction is timely and applicable for my garage shop. Looking forward to seeing more of your creations in the future. God bless!

Greetings from Florida! Glad I stumbled upon your channel!!! I’ve enjoyed every detail you put into your projects. Your dad reminds me of my furniture maker/carpenter grandpa who is now passed. He lived to be 98 and was as meticulous in a good way, till the end. His projects were perfectly detailed! Keep up churning great content!!!! Can’t wait to see more beautifully edited videos. I know that takes a good long time, but, you do it well! Thank you!

Welp, I just went full send. Got the plans on your etsy & bought $500 in casters/tools/bits/clamps/etc. $260ish in bolts/screws/washers/hardware/etc. and $70 in 2x4’s & I had some 3/4 4x8 plywood already in the garage. 😂 semi confident in my abilities & hopeful i’ll finish. Really love this table build out of all the ones I watched. Only difference for mine is i have the Dewalt 60v battery powered table saw. Hope that won’t be too hard to work around.
@vanislestudioКүн бұрын
Hi there, it's great to hear you enjoyed the table build :) and thank you so much for choosing my plan on Etsy! I'm excited for you and your project on the horizon and hope you enjoy the process of the build. I learned a lot from building mine and wish the same for you. The Dewalt 60v has a slightly smaller table top foot print I believe, not an issue, You should be able to clearly see in the plans how to add material to the left and right to make up the difference in size. If you ever have any questions, please let me know and I'll do my best to help. Best of luck to you on your journey! Paul

@@vanislestudio getting the dedo stage right now. Did you use all these blades? Did you add the spacers? Trying to set my saw up right now and this is the first time I’ve ever done it.
@vanislestudioКүн бұрын
@@SwanySwan Hi, I didn't' use all the spacers. It was a bit to wide and scary to use I thought. I think I used only one of the spacers and did many cuts. In the operating manual of my saw (7491rs) There is a section on using the Dado blade, I found out I needed a new throat plate insert to accommodate the thickness of the dado stack. I made my own to save money. I youtube'd how to do this. Make sure in the Manual of your saw to read any special instructions for using the Dado blade, or to make sure you saw can accommodate the use of the dado blades. If so, I read a comment (for safety when using the dado blade) make sure to build up to the final depth of cut, raising the blade each time, making multiple passes until you reach your desired depth of cut. Don't cut the full depth all at once I was told. I did some practice cuts on scrap wood to get comfortable with the using the blade. Have fun, take your time, be safe and enjoy learning and building!
@SwanySwanКүн бұрын
@@vanislestudio thanks man, really appreciate it! I got the 2 blades on and one insert. I think that pretty much all my saw can handle for the nut to sit flush against the screw when I’m tightening it. Currently making a custom throat plate. Ready to get cranking!!

You are missing one thing -- "backboards" for the miter saw -- that is, something in-plane with the miter saw fences, so stuff stays in-line with them more accurately. Obviously, they need to be removable, so... something with pegs that goes down into it -- probably metal dowels and suitable sleeves for exact positioning. Perhaps some 2060, 4060, 2080, or 4080 Aluminum T-track, rather than wood, to prevent warping and temp changes. And the benefit is, you can get or rig some stop mechanisms and the like that use the t-track. Looks great, though. Also, how to fix it down, so it can't lift up -- maybe some steel washers on the underside, with some in-table Mag Switches, or, alternately, you might be able to rig up your own -- look into how magswitches work, you CAN make your own.
@vanislestudioКүн бұрын
Hey Nick, I just looked up the MagSwitches! Did not know they were even a thing and thanks for putting me onto those and for some of the great ideas for the backboards for the miter saw! You have some good thoughts there and I appreciate you sharing them with me, gives me food for thought mate and greatly appreciated. All the best to you :)

Hi great video, thinking of building this myself for my first workshop table, how much did it cost you for all the lumber?
@vanislestudio2 күн бұрын
Hi there thanks so much! 2 sheets of 3/4 ply @ 85 each. 19 2X4's @ 3.73 each. 1 sheet of MDF @ 59.98. One 2 X 6 @ 4.26 Total is about $304 but add extra for mistakes and a few other pieces, so about 350 is a really good ballpark. Thanks for stopping in mate! All the best to you
